A few days ago I had the great privilege of documenting Damon’s TOP SECRET Proposal to Allison on the beach in front of The Sanctuary on Kiawah Island! He and his Mom & Dad, along with his girlfriend, Allison, and her beautiful daughter, were all vacationing there for the summer. Little did Allison know that Damon & his Mom were secretly scheming behind her back. They had contacted me to be there “incognito” when they arrived on the beach so that I could capture all the momentous occasion. It was SO AWESOME! She said YES! And we had a beautiful photo shoot afterwards. Congratulations to Allison & Damon!!!
David & Megan’s Storybook Design
Cami & I had so much fun at David & Megan’s New England Destination Wedding in Fairhaven, just outside Boston, earlier this year. So I thought I’d share a few pages from the layout of their new Storybook that we just finished designing. We’ve used a number of different design programs over the years…from good old Photoshop to You Select It to Soho Styler and more. But by far our favorite new tool is FotoFusion by LumaPix. Enjoy…
Lisa & Clay’s Charleston Wedding at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church
I have had such an honor getting to know Lisa & Clay over the past year. Their wedding last weekend will stay with me forever! Lisa is a teacher here in Charleston. Clay is a speech therapist. So they both have a huge heart for helping kids. They are both such genuine, sweet, and compassionate individuals…you couldn’t find a more adorable couple! When I first met them, they’d been dating about a year. Their friend Lizzie gets props for inviting Lisa to join St. Michael’s where they met. And their friend Charlotte had the honor of introducing them. Clay picked her ring out on his own (it’s GORGEOUS!) and totally surprised her by taking her up to the church bell-tower right at sunset and proposing to her. I’m a hopeless romantic at heart…so stories like this really get me. J
The wedding day was absolutely perfect. My good friend and fellow photographer, Kellie McCann, joined me on the big day. We met up with the girls at The Marriott where they were getting ready. The ceremony was at the beautiful and historic St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. Afterwards we did wedding party photos at White Point Gardens on The Battery. And finally we ended back at The Marriott for a rockin’ reception. Check out the music video with some of my favorite shots at www.chrisandcami.com/blog. Then head over to www.chrisandcami.zenfolio.com to see the rest of their wedding gallery.
CONGRATULATIONS Lisa & Clay! You guys are AWESOME! May God bless you as you begin this new journey together…
Downtown Charleston Bridal Shoot
Lisa & Clay were finally married last weekend. So it’s safe for me to finally reveal some of Lisa’s gorgeous Bridal Portraits from her shoot in charming downtown Charleston. J I posted some of their really cool Engagement Portraits here: https://chrisandcami.com/blog/2010/03/29/lisa-clay-rock-bowens-island/. But I just couldn’t post any with Lisa’s dress until now for fear of Clay “snooping” around to get a peek at her dress! Just kidding…Clay would never do that.
Friendly Fire
It’s quite amazing how many weddings take place in Charleston on any given weekend. So it’s not uncommon for me to bump into another wedding party being photographed by one of my friends. Last weekend I ran into my good friends and fellow photographers Joey & Kasey of Olive Productions at White Point Gardens! I saw them first and squeezed off a couple frames before Joey got the drop on me. J
Daniel Island Club
We are truly honored and look forward to shooting many more weddings there. The staff was so friendly and attentive. Everything ran like clockwork. And it’s just such a beautiful facility to work in. I highly recommend looking at the Daniel Island Club for your next wedding or event.
Heather & Marcus in Fernandina Beach
Last week Cami & I had a really cool eSession with Heather & Marcus in Fernandina Beach, FL!!! They are such a great couple…young, gorgeous, and full of energy! They’ve been dating a couple years now and last September Marcus popped “The Question”. J They are from the Jacksonville area and selected Fernandina Beach as the backdrop for their portraits. It’s such a cute little historic town with lots of texture and ambiance, plus a great view of the sunset! Here are a few of my favorites…
Tara & Will at the Daniel Island Club
Tara & Will were married on a gorgeous day overlooking the marsh at the beautiful Daniel Island Club. Tara is from Aiken but moved to Charleston. Will is from Florida, but moved to Charlotte. Even though they’ve been dating for like 3 or 4 years now, Tara & Will have never really lived in the same place. They will start their new life together in Charlotte after the wedding…finally together in the same town! J
Check out their Music Video below at www.chrisandcami.com/blog, then head over to www.chrisandcami.zenfolio.com to see the rest of the photos in their Online Gallery.
CONGRATULATIONS to Tara & Will. You guys were AMAZING to work with and I’m SO happy for you both!!!
Shawn’s Senior Portraits
While we were at our reunion, my brother and his wife asked me to photograph their son’s Senior Portraits. He’d had some done back home in Oregon, but they just weren’t thrilled with them. Since Shawn is very into his music, and a killer guitar player (he performed a solo for his classmates at their graduation ceremony), we borrowed my uncle’s guitar for a prop. Shawn’s such a great kid and I had an awesome time photographing him. Maybe when he gets to be a super star he’ll let me shoot his first Album Cover….HA! J
Jacci & Scott at Wild Dunes
I photographed Jacci & Scott’s wedding two years ago. It’s hard to believe since I remember their Big Day like it was yesterday! So imagine how excited I was to hear they had started a family. They were coming back to Charleston for vacation and asked if I’d be willing to do a few photos of them. Are you KIDDING?!? It was so nice to see them again, catch up, and meet little Jack. The really funny part is, they were married at Sunrise Presbyterian Church…and Jackie & Chris’ wedding last weekend was at the same location…coincidence?!? Hmmm….
Jackie & Chris at Sunrise Presbyterian Church
Jackie & Chris’ wedding has been a long time coming! But through all the ups and downs of Chris’ fight with cancer, the families rallied together and victory was claimed!!! I truly believe the difficult times in life draw us closer and strengthen our bonds beyond measure. I was witness to the evidence of these bonds time and time again throughout Jackie & Chris’ wedding day. It is such an honor and a privilege to have been able to share in this special day with such an AMAZING couple!
Jackie & Chris were married at the gorgeous Sunrise Presbyterian Church on Sullivan’s Island. After the ceremony, we walked across the beach to sink our naked toes in the sand and get some fun shots of the wedding party. Then we joined the PARTAAAAY on the Carolina Girl Yacht. I always love working with Captain Bob and his crew…they are top notch and always make sure everyone has a GREAT time on board!
Enjoy Jackie & Chris’ fun Music Video at www.chrisandcami.com/blog. Then head over to www.chrisandcami.zenfolio.com to see the rest of their photos. CONGRATULATIONS Jackie & Chris. You guys are a very special couple to me and I will never forget sharing this beautiful day with you!
Nathan Bell invades my Secret Shooting Spot!
Yesterday evening I was “on walkabout” doing an Engagement photo shoot with one of my favorite couples EVER! We were just walking along, having a blast, and getting some cool shots…when suddenly on the other side of an old brick wall I could hear a camera clicking away. I peeked around the corner and who should I see by my good friend and fellow photographer, Nathan Bell of Richard Bell Photography! Nathan’s a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor…so we both immediately went into mock horror mode…like “hey man, what are YOU doing in MY shooting space?!?” Then we busted out laughing and introduced our couple to each other, and chit chatted for a few minutes before carrying on our separate ways. But before Nathan could get out of sight, I enticed his couple into this zany pose with him. It’s always fun bumping into friends while out shooting. J
