Natalia and Andres in Key West

Photographing proposals is one of my favorite things to shoot! So when a random couple came up to me in Key West last week, let me know they’d just gotten engaged, and asked if I would take a few photos, I jumped at the chance!!!

Jason, David, and I were in Key West photographing another one of our Moto Photo Adventures episodes, which you’ll be able to watch on our channel at http://youtube.com/MotoPhotoAdventures in a few weeks. As we walked around, enjoying the sights, photographing the chickens and tourists alike, we happened upon the famous Hemingway House.

As we gathered outside this popular tourist stop to get a glimpse of the 6-toed cats, and inquire about tour costs, Andres must have noticed my more professional looking camera. While Natalia was at the booth buying their tour tickets, he told me that he had just asked Natalia to be his wife! How cool is that?!? And the best part is, she said YES! He asked if I would mind taking a couple photos for them to commemorate the occasion. And of course I too said YES!!! 🙂

We only had a couple minutes before they were to enter for their tour. Quickly switching from my “travel photographer” hat to my “couples portraits” hat, I captured a few fun portraits for Natalia and Andres while everyone watched. They were so much fun to work with!!!  Andres was tall and strong…his khaki pants and penny loafers an indication of his laid-back demeanor.  Natalia was stunning with her flowing hair and beautiful Bimini-blue blouse.  It was an an absolute delight to spend a few minutes with these two amazing people before we headed down the road to find our campsite for the night.

Many thanks to Natalia and Andres for allowing me to have the honor of photographing their first portraits as a newly engaged couple.

Amanda & Alicia’s Lifestyle Shoot

With all the mayhem leading up to their BEAUTIFUL wedding (which was featured in Borrowed & Blue by the way), Amanda, Alicia, and I didn’t get a chance to photograph their engagement session. So instead, Amanda had this really creative idea to do a post-wedding “lifestyle” shoot in their home! We had SO MUCH FUN hanging out and creating these awesome images of life, love, family, and togetherness!!!

Geer’s 1-Year Portrait

It’s hard to believe Louisa & Joe have a 1-year old baby boy. It seems like just yesterday I was photographing their beautiful wedding!!! 🙂

To celebrate Geer’s 1st year on planet earth, we all met at Folly Beach for a fun portrait session. It was so cool to see what a “little man” this youg fellow has become!

Louisa & Joe had also brought a secret 1-Year Birthday Cake. I love shooting Cake-Smashings…and Mr. Geer sure smashed this one good!!! 🙂

CONGRATULATIONS Louisa & Joe! Does this mean it’s time to start planning round two???

Christopher Teves Strikes a Chord

Working with a fellow artist like Christopher Teves always inspires me!

I’ve known Christopher for a long time. I remember photographed images for the cover of one of his first CDs many years ago. We often bump into each other at weddings when he’s playing the processional, or at recitals where he’s a featured musician. But spending quality time with him the other afternoon was a real honor!

Christopher is the kind of gentle old soul that resonates with me. We could have been brothers in another lifetime! His passion for his art runs deep. He loves what he does. And he works REALLY hard to be the best that he can be at his craft!

If you haven’t had the pleasure, I highly recommend seeking out Christopher’s next performance, booking a guitar lesson, or crashing the next wedding he’s playing! 🙂 Check him out at www.christopherteves.com.

Trevor’s Office

I had the honor and pleasure of photographing Trevor & Britt’s beautiful destination wedding in Costa Rica last year: https://chrisandcami.com/britt-trevors-costa-rica-wedding/. So when Trevor called to say he was flying into Charleston for a couple days, and needed some new profile pictures, I jumped at the chance to photograph him in his office!

Trevor is an executive pilot for a Fortune 500 company, piloting the corporate jet to wherever his clients need to go. I photographed this image with the Nikon D4 and Nikkor 14-24 f2.8. The camera was set to tungsten White Balance. Lighting was provided by a pair of SB-800 off-camera flashes with tungsten gels on them. This lighting setup allowed the dull gray exterior skies to take on that intruguing cool blue of dusk, while keeping the cockpit looking warm and natural.

It was great to see Trevor again…and geek out over his amazing office!!!

Time Pieces Music

Andy & Kim Marie of Time Pieces Music are a really unique and truly gifted couple!  I had a great time photographing their new promotional images for their website and brochures last weekend.  Listening to their music, being in the presence of their talent, and experiencing they joy they have in life was a real blessing.  Check out their website at www.timepiecesmusic.com.
