Kate & Matthews Private Plantation Wedding

On a stunning summer evening last weekend, I had the privilege of capturing the Kate and Matthew’s beautiful wedding. Their Big Day was held at a picturesque former plantation, now owned by INEOS Aromatics, along the Cooper River outside Charleston, SC. This enchanting venue, characterized by its lush landscapes and rich history, provided an exquisite backdrop that perfectly complemented the coupleā€™s romantic vision.

The golden hour light danced through the live oaks, casting soft shadows and creating a warm, ethereal glow. Utilizing a combination of natural light and careful composition, I aimed to encapsulate the essence of their love story in each frame. The coupleā€™s choice of classic yet elegant decor harmonized beautifully with the natural surroundings.

As the ceremony unfolded, the emotional exchanges were palpable. From heartfelt vows, to joyful laughter, I used a pair of Nikon Z9s to capture every moment as it unfolded. After the formal portraits, one of my favorite moments was sneaking away with Kate & Matthew to photograph a few portraits as the sun set over the river.

The evening culminated in a vibrant reception, full of energy and excitement! From the cake cutting to the first dance…from roasting s’mores to crazy line dancing…everyone had an absolute blast!

Every wedding is unique, and photographing Kate and Matthewā€™s special day reaffirmed what makes wedding photography so fulfilling to me. I absolutely LOVED everything about Kate & Matthew! They were such a joy to work with. And it was an honor to be there for them on this special occasion.

April Curci for Carolina One Real Estate

I first met April about 5 years ago when she first moved to Charleston from Arizona. She had joined a different commercial real estate team here in Charleston…and I was photographing their headshots at the Old Cigar Factory.

April went on to make a name for herself in the industry. She ultimately joined the team at Carolina One, which is the largest real estate company in the region. She feels at home and loves working there!

April will be leading the annual Market Forecast Meeting for the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors next week, and needed a new headshot for her on-screen bio. Plus it was time to update her marketing photos anyway! So we met up downtown for a fun walk-about, capturing a variety of new shots for April that incorporated all of Charleston’s charm as the backdrop for her session.

Mackenzie Family on Kiawah Island

The last time I photographed the Mackenzie Family was in 2020. Back then, the girls were only knee-high to a grasshopper! I was super excited when they called to let me know they were coming back to Kiawah Island this year and wanted updated family portraits!!!

We met up at The Sanctuary and captured some shots in the Butterfly Garden, which was one of their favorite locations from the last time. We also got a few fun ones in the Enchanted Forest out front of the hotel. Then it was off to the beach, following the winding wooded path. There had been some storm clounds in the area earlier in the afternoon. But our timing worked out perfectly with beautiful skies and gorgeous light from the late afternoon sun!

It was an absolute pleasure to catch up with the Mackenzie family, see how much the girls have grown, and capture these beautiful images for them…

Center for Birds of Prey – Staff Headshots

It’s been a pleasure working with the Center for Birds of Prey over the last few years! I was lucky enough to get to photograph headshots for the newest members of their growing team yesterday. Congratulations to Katie, Faith, and Christine on joining an awesome organization!!!Ā  And many thanks to Mandy for coordinating everyone’s schedules.

Felder Family on Isle of Palms

Amidst a week of dodgy thunderstorms and opressive heat waves, we lucked out with a GORGEOUS evening for the Felder Family’s annual summer beach portrait session!!!

I have truly enjoyed getting to know this beautiful family. This year, we had a new addition with adorable Anna joining the ranks. She is such a sweetheart! And I loved how she had just dicovered the existance of her tongue…and was happy to show it off to everyone! šŸ™‚ Plus it was a joy to see how much the other kids had grown and developed their own individual personalities.

We had a blast and came away with so many wonderful images to commemorate this year’s fun family reunion.

Kelsey & Evan’s Wedding at Alhambra Hall

Last weekend, I had the incredible pleasure of photographing Kelsey and Evan’s stunning wedding at Alhambra Hall in picturesque Mt. Pleasant, SC. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments against the backdrop of Charleston’s cityscape across the harbor.

Kelsey was absolutely gorgeous in her exquisite gown. After her mom and maid of honor helped get her ready, Kelsey had a private First Look with her dad, and her step-dad…followed by a fun “reveal” to the rest of her bridesmaids. Evan looked quite dashing in his suit classic navy suit as well.

Their love and excitement were palpable throughout the day, from the tender moments during the ceremony to the lively celebration with family and friends during the reception.Ā  As a wedding photographer, my goal is always to not only document the events of the day but to also capture the emotions and atmosphere that make each wedding unique. Kelsey and Evan’s wedding was a photographer’s dream, with plenty of candid moments and genuine expressions that truly reflected their love story.

One of the highlights was photographing the couple during sunset. Hidden behind low-hanging clouds for much of the afternoon, the fiery sun revealed itself for a brief moment through a sliver in the sky just as it hit the horizon near the famous Arthur Ravenel Bridge. This creating a dramatic backdrop for their final portraits before the party kicked into top gear.

The reception was an absolute BLAST!!!Ā  From their grand entrance to the heartfelt toasts, from the anniversary dance to the bouquet toss, from the cake cutting to the final sparkler exit…it was an absolute joy to witness Kelsey & Evan’s excitement as they danced and celebrated this milestone surrounded by their loved ones.

I’m grateful to have been a part of Kelsey and Evan’s special day. It’s weddings like theirs that remind me why I love what I doā€”capturing true love, eternal joy, and new beginnings.

Congratulations Kelsey & Evan! We wish you all the happiness in the world as you begin your new journey together as husband and wife!!!

Kelsey’s Bridal Portraits at Waterfront Park

Kelsey & Evan were married in a beautiful ceremony at Alhambra Hall this past weekend. Which means I can FINALLY share Kelsey’s amazing bridal portraits!

Several weeks before their wedding, I met up with Kelsey and her family who came along to join in the excitement. It was a lovely evening. And Kelsey was absolutely GORGEOUS!!! We started out at White Point Garden and then explored the surrounding historic neighborhoods. We worked our way over to The Battery for final shots in the golden glow of the setting sun.

Kelsey did an AMAZING job and we came away with a ton of gorgeous images. Here are a few of my favorites. Please help me in congratulating Kelsey & Even as they begin their new life together!!!

Bridge Commercial Headshots

It’s been an honor to work with Bridge Commercial over the last decade or so.

Yesterday I had the privilege of photographing updated headshots for them. The scheduling was prompted because they had just hired Morgan, the latest member of their growing team. But of course we opened the shoot up to anyone who wanted an updated headshot. Several folks came down for updates because they have a different hair style, lost some weight, etc. What a great pleasure it was to see Executive Vice President Hagood come down for an update! Hagood was one of the first people I photographed for the firm!!! He hasn’t changed much…just a little grayer and wiser like me. HA!

Headshots for the Joye Law Firm

The best part of my job is meeting new, fun, and friendly people!!!

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing some new headshots for the Joye Law Firm. I’ve been working with their team for a few years now. And everyone they hire always seems to be so happy! I’d say this law firm must be really great to work for. Having a friendly work environment and a pleasant culture to be a part of makes for happy employees!!!

Debi & Scott’s Vow Renewal Photo Shoot

As Debi and Scott began planning their destination vow renewal in Charleston, the most important part was to have all their children together for the weekend! They are a blended family, with adult kids who have sprouted roots all over the country. So to find a date that worked with everyone’s schedules was tough…but they did it!!!

To comemorate this rare occurance, they asked me to spend a couple hours with them and their family, exploring different parts of Charleston, and capturing a wide variety of photographs of everyone together!

Debi & Scott are such an amazing couple! And it was an absolute pleasure to spend time with them and their growing family. šŸ™‚

Rosen Hagood Marketing Photos

Last year, I had the pleasure of photographing the Grand Opening of the new Rosen Hagood office. I had a great time and really enjoyed working with them. So I was extremely pleased when they reached out again to see if I could help them with some new marketing and branding photos for their website!

Usually law firms request fairly standard headshots. But the Rosen Hagood Law Firm decided they wanted something different! As a creative, I LOVED the concept they pitched. They were looking for something more casual, artistic, and classic. What better way to do that then with some timeless black-and-white, right?!?

Headshots for Weeks & Irvine

Becca moved here to attend the Charleston School of Law. She specialized in real-estate law. And has joined the amazing team at Weeks & Irvine! It was a pleasure photographing her headshots this morning.

Not only has Bacca had a great start to her new career, she’s also getting married in 5 weeks! She and her fiance, along with 140 of their favorite friends and family, are heading to Key West to tie the knot. How fun is that? šŸ™‚
