Emilly’s Dance Portfolio

I’ve always been fascinated by ballet and other forms of creative dance. The discipline, the training, what people put their bodies through for the purpose of self-expression…it’s just amazing! While visiting Cami’s cousin and her family in Phoenix, Shelley asked if we could photograph a mini session for Emily, who needed images for her portfolio. I don’t know who had more fun, Emily or me?!? Plus of course we HAD to incorporate a few of her brother, sister, and puppy dog! 🙂 Emily is an absolutely beautiful, focused, driven young lady. She wouldn’t settle for anything less than perfection in her pose and form. Well done, Superstar! I can’t wait to see you on the Big Stage someday…

US Grains Council in Costa Rica

We are blessed with the most AMAZING corporate clients!

Working with the US Grains Council over the last few years has been a real pleasure. They are always on their game, always fun to work with, and always treat me like one of their team! So when they asked if I’d be willing to to travel to Costa Rica to photograph their 12th International Marketing Conference, I did a little “happy dance” in my office!!! 🙂

This was my 3rd trip to Costa Rica. It’s such a beautiful country, with such friendly people. The 3-day conference was held at the gorgeous Costa Rica Marriott Hotel. The agenda included dynamic key-note speakers, breakout sessions full of animated discussions, intense staff planning meetings, excursions to coffee & chocolate plantations, amazing meals, the freshest coffee you’ve ever tasted, and a fantastic fiesta to cap it all off! It was such a thrill to be a part of this vibrant event!

I can’t thank everyone at the US Grains Council enough!!!

Bunch Family on Folly Beach

Friends of our good friends Dan & Diane Harris, it was an honor to photograph Toni & Doug’s family gathering this weekend!
With miserable weather earlier in the week, it was amazing how we ended up with one beautiful warm day for our shoot. It was like “someone” was upstairs looking out for us! 🙂
The family was gathering to honor the life of their dear departed mother, memorializing the time together with a family photo shoot, and completing the cycle by also celebrating the engagement of Adam & Karmen!
It was a pleasure being a part of this special time in this family’s life!

Metanoia and Fresh Future Farms

Fresh Future Farm is a city-based venture that leverages healthy food and grocery services to create socially just economic development. The project’s focus is on developing a socially responsible urban grocery model and farming operation that keeps costs down for customers by growing organic produce where it will be consumed, and educating customers on the social economic and environmental benefits of an urban farming operation.

It was a pleasure photographing promotional images of this project for the South Carolina Community Loan Fund, which granted the seed money through its Feeding Innovation Challenge. Germaine Jenkins (the CEO of FFF and Metanoia’s Community Garden Coordinator), and Rev. Bill Stanfield (CEO of Metanioa), and the rest of the staff, were an absolute pleasure to work with!

Dr. Schutte for Tenet Physician Resources

Dr. Schutte is the past president of both the South Carolina Orthopedic Association and the Charleston County Medical Society. He has received numerous honors, including The John A. Siegling Teaching Award from MUSC, and has been published numerous times on hip and knee joint replacement topics.

Cami’s parents have received multiple joint replacements. So it was a real honor to be able to photograph Dr. Schutte and his amazing, friendly, and delightful staff for Tenet Physician Resources!

Chase & Courtney’s Carriage Ride Proposal

Valentine’s Day is special to a lot of couples. But this year, it was EXTRA special to Chase & Courtney!!!

A few weeks ago, Chase contacted us to let us know his intentions to propose to his girlfriend. Although they are from North Carolina, Courtney LOVEs the history and charm of Charleston! So Chase thought it would be extra special to bring her down for the weekend, and propose on a carriage tour. He arranged for me to be on the same tour, and I brought Cami so that we could pretend to be just another “tourist” couple in town.

Courtney had absolutely NO clue, and everything went as smoothly and perfectly as could be! It was so much fun being a part of their special day. CONGRATULATIONS Chase & Courtney!!!

Emma’s Olympic Rings

I have always been a huge fan of the Olympics! Sure there are politics involved…but the premise of bridging barriers and bringing people of all nations together for friendly competition is an honorable one!

So it was with great pleasure that I listened to Emma, a very creative and charismatic high-school senior, describe her project to me! It was a real honor being a part of helping Emma realize her vision of the Olympic Rings!

New America Corporation

A few days ago I had the pleasure of photographing Adolphus Johnson, President & CEO of the New America Corporation, a nonprofit organization that specializes in business development, affordable housing, and education.

I had a great time photographing Adolphus, and talking to him about all the amazing projects they have going on. As he puts it: “Because of socio-economic factors, many individuals have the odds stacked against them. Our organization seeks to change the odds by being a resource to help individuals reclaim the American Dream.”

The assignment was for the SC Community Loan Fund, which is a partner with the New America Corporation. These organizations are doing amazing work with affordable housing. It’s an honor to be a part of what they are doing!

New Wedding Wire Review

The holidays are always a favorite time of year for us. But this year’s was made even MORE special when we recieved this wonderful review from Kelli & Tom!

We’re in the running to be named for the prestigious Wedding Wire Couple’s Choice Award again this year…it’ll be our 6th in a row! Kelli & Tom’s kind review couldn’t have come at a better time…it might be just what we needed to make the cut. 🙂

Many thanks to Kelli & Tom…and to ALL our wonderful brides and grooms from 2014. We are so blessed to have THE BEST clients ever!!!

A Four-Generation Christmas

We had a little trouble with weather, illnesses, and schedules…so I thought it might not happen until after Christmas. But suddenly, a sliver of an opening, everyone healthy, and the sun warm and shinning…the perfect opportunity to squeeze in a Four-Generation Christmas Shoot for one of our all-time favorite clients! 🙂

I met up with Dr. Lori, her daughter Ellie, her mom Maxine, and her grandmother “Granny G” at granny’s retirement community in Mt. Pleasant. With Christmas just around the corner, the atmosphere was festive, the staff was wonderful, and we all had a great time! Ellie has really come out of her shell this year.  She is so inquisitive…exploring and investigating EVERYTHING in site!  I just love this “age of discovery” when little boys’ and girls’ eyes light up at new and exciting “Eureka” moments.

Since I opened the year by photographing Ellie’s 1-year birthday party the first week of 2014, it was so fitting that she was ALSO the star of my last photo shoot of the year!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Ellie and her wonderful family…and to each and every one of you…our amazing families, clients, and friends!!!

Location Shoot for SC Community Loan Fund

Some of my favorite assignments are the ones where I get to go out in the community to meet and photograph good, honest, hard-working folks!

This morning, on a marketing assignment for the SC Community Loan Fund, I got to meet Rob Cauble. What a great guy!!! His hardwood flooring business is growing and expanding. I couldn’t be happier for Rob and all his success. If you’re ever interested in upgrading to hardwood floors, don’t hesitate to check him out at www.rwcauble.com.

Business Portraits for Dixon Hughes Goodman

Dixon Hughes Goodman is growing and expanding…again!!!

It’s been such a wild ride working with this fantastic company from back in the days before Dixon Hughes merged with Pratt Thomas Gumb…and later expanded to Dixon Hughes Goodman.

With a new rebranding and marketing campaign coming out in 2015, it was time to update everyone’s business portraits and headshots. I spent 2 days last month, and 2 days this month, getting all their associates updated and ready for the big campaing coming out in January.

If you or your company is considering a rebranding, wanting to update your “look”, or simply interested in some new marketing images for the New Year, give us a call. A NEW year means a NEW beginning! We’d be delighted to work with you!!!
