Chrissy & Matt’s Maternity Portraits

Chrissy is a dear friend, and one of our favorite Second-Shooters! She has helped me capture a LOT of beautiful mements over the years. Now it’s time for HER to have a beautiful moment!!!

Chrissy & Matt are due in about a month. So we met up downtown to do a few fun shots of them before going out to dinner. Congratulations Chrissy & Matt!!! 🙂

Kristen & William’s Wedding at Daniel Island Club

Last week I had the honor and pleasure of photographing Kristen & William’s GORGEOUS wedding at the picturesque Daniel Island Club! As one of my optometrists, I’ve known Kristen for a few years now. I was SO EXCITED when I found out her and William were getting married. And I was EVEN MORE EXCITED when she asked me to be their photographer! 🙂 Their wedding day was absolutely gorgeous. The dramatic views and flowering sweetgrass made for the perfect, romantic setting for their Big Day. Kristen was absolutely stunning in her gown, with her radians smile lighting up the atmosphere. William was as calm, collected, and handsome as James Bond. We all had a BLAST!!! CONGRATULATIONS Kristen & William! Your beautiful new “together” journey has begun…

Amtrak Adventure to Washington D.C.

A couple weeks ago, Cami & I decided to have an adventure, and ride the train up to Washington D.C. with her parents for a long weekend. Amtrak has come a long way…fun and courteous attendants, roomy seats, nice diner car, A/C outlets at every seat, and free Wi-Fi!!!

To add to the fun, we stayed with a friend of mine that I grew up with in the Congo (DRC). Like mine, his parents were missionaries too. He and his wife Machelle have a beautiful home, and were wonderful hosts. Plus, their beautiful and witty daugher, Maya, modeled in an impromptu shoot for me!

Weather was pretty dreary most of the weekend. But we had a BLAST hiking all over The National Mall and taking in the sights. It truly is an awe-inspiring place, and one we hope to get back to. Here are a few shots from our Amtrak Adventure…

Murdy Family on Folly Beach

I’ve been photographing Grace since she was knee high to a grasshopper. It’s been so much fun watching her blossom into the beautiful little girl she’s become…full curiousity and wonder…wrapped in love by her amazing parents!

Tamsberg “Charleston Charm” Portraits

I absolutely LOVE the Tamsbergs! Chris & Carrie are such kind and caring people…the sort of folks who accept you for who you are and leave you wishing you could spend more time with them.

Earlier this week I got to photograph another family session for them. It’s been such a blessing to watch their family grow. Their kids are so adorable…with giggles and smiles that put pure joy in your heart!

Here are a few shots from our downtown “Charleston Charm” family portrait session…

Maya’s Modeling Shoot

This weekend, Cami & I were able to take a break and go visit our good friends Eric & Machelle up in the Washington D.C. area. Eric & I grew up together in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo), where our parents worked. So it was great catching up with him!

We took in a ton of the sights, historic monuments, and museums in D.C…walking for miles each day…photographing non-stop! But my favoriite images came from photographing their amazing, edgy, and intelligent young daughter, Maya. She was a complete natural in front of the camera!

Here are a few from the fun little fashion shoot we went on. All images were shot on Nikon D810 with MB-D12, 24-120 f4VR, 2 SB-800 off-camera flashess, all controlled by RadioPopper’s Px system via the built in flash as commander.

Mackenzie & Tony’s Magnolia Plantation Wedding

It’s been such a joy for Cami & I to meet beautiful and vibrant Mackenzie at her gallery, be invited to become one of their featured artists for her and her partner, Kelly, meet Tony at one of their shows, get to know them over the past year, and now call them “friends”.

It was such an honor when they asked us to photograph their special day!!! The AMAZING wedding and reception was held at Magnolia Plantation last weekend. We started out with a First Glance at Hampton Park, which has special meaning to them. From there it was on to the gorgeous oak trees and dramatic backdrops of the historic plantation for fun times with their family and wedding party. The ceremony began in a picturesque courtyard overlooking the Ashley River. But when rain moved in, everyone gleefully gathered themselves and moved into the Carriage House. After the “I Do’s”, the reception went into full swing with tearful toasts, dynamic dancing, fantastic food, and an electric atmosphere like I’ve never seen before!

CONGRATULATIONS Mackenzie & Tony! It’s been such a privilege to be a part of your lives. We can’t wait to continue our relationship and watch you two blossom as you begin this next chapter in your wonderful journey together!!!

Chris & Cami Photography Interview Video

Following a photo shoot I had at Pixel Studios, the amazingly talented studio owner, LeRoy Mazyck, insisted that I sit down and let him do this short video interview.  He knew something of my story, and had been trying to get me to do an interview for some time.  As humble and “behind-the-scenes” as I like to be, it took some prodding.  But I’m so glad I did it!  LeRoy has a real talent for storytelling, and made the whole process easy and enjoyable.  Many thanks, my friend…

Mary & Ryan at St. Andrew’s Church at the Citadel Beach House

After a long, soggy week, the rains lifted in time for Mary & Ryan’s beatiful wedding last weekend!

I’d been looking forward to their wedding since their amazing Engagement Session, which started out in the exact spot where Ryan proposed to her.  This spot was very special to them, as it was also where Mary’s father proposed to her mother years before! We had so much fun on their photo shoot…I just knew their wedding was going to be fantastic!!!

The celebration started out in the beautiful old restored chapel at St. Andrew’s Church in Old Mt. Pleasant, and the party rocked on into the night at the picturesque Citadel Beach House on Isle of Palms. So many incredible vendors like Jessica Cheney, Beyond Expectations, and the Charleston Groove Factory made for a successful evening for all.

CONGRATULATIONS Mary & Ryan! Your love for each other truly radiates around you. May God bless you as you begin your new journey together…

Ross & Amanda’s Wedding at Debordieu Colony

How do you know when you’ve had a REALLY fun time at a wedding? When you have a long 2-hour drive home afterwards, and the whole time you’re jammin’ and singing along to Kylie Minogue on Pandora at the top of your voice!!! That’s what happened to me last week after Ross & Amanda’s AMAZING celebration of love, friendship, and family.

I photographed Ross’ sister’s wedding, Jessica & Phil, several years ago. It was such an honor to continue the tradition as he exchanged his vows and promises to the absolutely beautiful Amanda.

Their ceremony was held at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church in Pawley’s Island. The reception followed at the Debordieu Colony Clubhouse. In between, we had a chance to create some awesome photos with the classic “Kuenzle Family Car”!!!  Check out all their photos at http://chrisandcami.zenfolio.com/amandaandross.

Congratulations Amanda & Ross!

May the road rise to meet you

May the wind be always at your back

May the sun shine warm upon your face

and the rain fall soft upon your fields

And until we meet again my friend

May God hold you in the palm of his hand
