It was an absolute pleasure photographing the annual Graduation Gala for the esteemed Medical Universary of South Carolina newest surgeons! This was my second year covering this amazing event. And I’m so glad I got to be a part of it!

This is the best of the best!!!
It was such an honor photographing this graduation gala in honor of the 9 individuals who graduated from MUSC’s elite specialized surgery department. The event was held at the beautiful Gaillard Auditorium. The graduates and their families were invited to arrive a little early so that I could photograph their formal portraits. As guests began arriving, everyone enjoyed lively conversations and great cocktails in the foyer. We then transitioned to the ballroom for a delicious sit-down diner. And finally, we capped off the the evening with the official awards program.
I had an amazing time and met some incredible individuals that I’ll never forget!!!

Mark Young is a well known portrait painter! His work is AMAZING!!! Check out his beautiful art at www.markyoung.com. Several years ago I was lucky enough to collaborate with him on a project. So I was incredibly honored when he asked me to work with him on a project for a painting of Dr. Usher!
As director of MUSC’s Clinical Cardiology Fellowship Program, Bruce W. Usher, M.D., has trained 115 fellows and recently was honored at a banquet for the rare milestone he reached in passing the 100 mark. Since Dr. Usher just retired, the board sought out Mark to paint a portrait of him. And it was my great honor to capture a few “reference photos” by which Mark would create his masterpiece! 🙂

Dr. Schutte is the past president of both the South Carolina Orthopedic Association and the Charleston County Medical Society. He has received numerous honors, including The John A. Siegling Teaching Award from MUSC, and has been published numerous times on hip and knee joint replacement topics.
Cami’s parents have received multiple joint replacements. So it was a real honor to be able to photograph Dr. Schutte and his amazing, friendly, and delightful staff for Tenet Physician Resources!
I first met Brittainy & Nate last August. They are friends of Whitney & Ryan, as well as Amy & Seth, both of whom I photographed their weddings. So I owe a HUGE thank you to these guys for encouraging Brittainy & Nate to check out our website. I’m so glad I got a chance to work with them and preserve all these beautiful moments of their special day! I had SUCH a hard time narrowing down my favorites for the blog!!! J
Brittainy & Nate were married at St. Luke’s Chapel…one of my favorite churches in town. I love the dramatic wooden rafters and quaint courtyard. Brittainy went to MUSC Pharmacy School, so the chapel, which is located on MUSC campus and is affiliated with the school, was a great choice. Chaplain George Rossi, also of MUSC, did a beautiful job with their ceremony. Afterwards, Brittainy & Nate made a stop down at Waterfront Park for some really cool portraits. I LOVE IT when a couple appreciates what I do enough to give me just a few moments alone with them so that we can create something special together!!! Afterwards we met everyone at Cottage on the Creek for a fun-filled evening reception. One of my favorites is this last shot of them on the top deck at dusk with Shem Creek below and the dramatic sky behind them. Earlier this month I had the honor of being ESPN’s official photographer of the Charleston Classic. This is the second year of this college basketball tournament. And it’s my second year photographing it!
