Marketing Photos for Truist Wealth

As a small business owner, word-of-mouth referrals from friends and colleagues is the HIGHEST compliment we receive! I’d like to say a huge Thank You to my friend Andy Stroer for recommending us to the awesome team at Truist Wealth Management!!!

Wealth accumulates. Goals shift. New needs arise. And your financial solutions should evolve accordingly. Early on, your planning needs may be simple. But as your assets, family, and passions grow, more complexities emerge. As your wealth grows, considerations like tax planning, philanthropy, and family legacy may begin to take center stage. This is where the advisors at Truist Wealth Management can help. Check them out at www.truist.com!

We started the session at their office in Mt. Pleasant, where I set up my portable studio in their lobby. All images were shot with Nikon D5, Nikkor 70-200 f2.8, Godox flashes, Westcott umbrellas, Manfrotto supports, and a Savage background. I was shooting tethered to a Lenovo Yoga laptop, allowing everyone to review their headshots and make sure they were happy with them!

Next we headed over to an overlook on the Cooper River that gave us a great view of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge in the background. This is such an iconic landmark, and worked out great for some environmental portraits of one of the teams within the wealth management group. These images were captured on a Nikon Z6II with a Nikkor S 24-70 and Godox flashes.

The sun was JUST starting to touch the horizon as a finished packing up. So I couldn’t help getting the Mavic 2 Pro out for a couple shots of the bridge after everyone had left!!! 🙂

Headshots for Seamon Whiteside

I love working with the awesome team at Seamon Whiteside!

We’ve gone through a variety of different “looks” for their company headshots over the years. But I really like the casual environmental style portraits they’ve been requesting for their most recent branding. They are a great team and everyone is always so fun and friendly to work with!

Many thanks to Lia and Anne for coordinating everything. 🙂

Sheally Insurance

Sheally Insurance is going through a whole new re-branding and re-marketing phase. I was truly honored that they selected me to be their photographer during this process. We had so much fun this morning capturing a variety of different images, as well as some updated headshots for several new staff members!

Fun Day at The Office

Today was a fun “Day at The Office”. Well, technically, the world is my office…HA! But today I had the privilege of photographing headshots for new team members at Bridge Commercial.  I set everything up in their lobby.  So each person just had to slip away from their desk for about 10 minutes. I always enjoy working with this wonderful company!

Sweetgrass Pharmacy for Rush Dixon Architects

Rush and Judy are an AMAZING team! I love photographing their architectural designs because not only are they beautiful, they are also super functional!!! Here are a few shots from the new Sweetgrass Pharmacy and Compounding store in Mt. Pleasant that they designed. Check out more of their work at www.rushdixon.com.  Also, many thanks to Cheryl and Courtney for helping to coordinate and grant access to me during their busy operation. Mixson Community for Seamon Whiteside

I had no idea this new neighborhood had gone up in the North Charleston area near Park Circle. When my clients at Seamon Whiteside hired me to photograph it for them, it was like I was discovering a new corner of our city for the first time!

“Live. Play. Dine. These three simple words are what defines Mixson, the new single family neighborhood and gem of Park Circle. Mixson boasts unparalleled amenities. Living here means you’ll also enjoy Mixson Club, your own swim and social oasis, which includes a yoga studio and exercise facility featuring new indoor and outdoor fitness equipment, swimming lessons for the kids, and cabana rentals with drink service at your fingertips. Mixson’s extensive park system is perfect for a walk with your dog to the spacious onsite dog park. Park Circle’s entertainment district is just a few minutes away and features locally-owned shops, restaurants, and three nationally recognized breweries. Perfectly convenient, stop by Mixson Market for a cup of coffee on your way to work or head over to Mixson’s onsite restaurant, LOCALS, where award-winning sushi and musical entertainment is served up throughout the week. At Mixson, you really can have it all.”

Last Photo Shoot of 2020

My last photo shoot for 2020 took place yesterday. I couldn’t have asked for a more fun and friendly group of ladies to work with!!!

I met up with the 5 doctors of Mt. Pleasant OBGYN at the Dodds-Durst House across from the East Cooper Medical Facility. The property has a traditional old plantation house and a beautiful grove of live oak trees just covered with Spanish moss! We had so much fun capturing a variety of great images for them to use in their upcoming 2021 marketing campaign.

If you’re lookig for a fun, friendly, and creative photography team to help with your headshots, group photos, or marketing images for the New Year, let us know. We’d be delighted to help you start 2021 off with a bang!!!

Brickyard Plantation for Seamon Whiteside

I learned a lot while photographing Brickyard Plantation for Seamon Whiteside this week. I had no idea there was so much history in this Mt. Pleasant neighborhood!

“Brickyard Plantation is a portion of the vast Boone Hall Plantation. The soils that cover much of the tract contain dense red clay and sand making it suitable for brick production. In 1817, a plantation with a Brick Yard established thereon called Boon Hall was purchased by John and Henry Horlbeck. The brothers were partners in the construction industry having built several notable structures in Charleston such as the St John’s Lutheran Church and St. Stephen’s Chapel. The Horlbecks developed the brick yard into a major enterprise. From 1850 to 1860, twenty five million bricks were produced at a profit of $170,000. The brick yard operated throughout the nineteenth century and was later known as the Horlbeck Brick and Tile Company. The facility consisted of several kilns, workshops, drying areas, a brick lined cistern, a commissary, and a steam boiler.”

Only one of the boiler’s brick chimneys is left standing today. It’s the only one of its kind in the area, and is beautifully preserved in the back of the neighborhood.

DJI Mavic 2 Pro

After many years with the DJI Mavic Pro, lately I’ve been working with the new Mavic 2 Pro.

I’ve been extremely impressed with this model. The 20MP camera shows far more detail than the previous 12MP camera. And the larger sensor creates much cleaner images with lower noise. I particularly like that the new camera shoots in a 2:3 aspect ratio, as opposed to the 4:3 ratio of the original drone. This ratio matches my Nikon DSLR images and fits my shooting style better.

However, the new camera can’t flip into portrait orientation, which I miss. The older model could do this, allowing me to photograph 6 or 7 vertical images to easily merge into a high resolution panoramic photo. I can still shoot multiple images to creat panoarmics, however I have to shoot 9 horizontal images to accomplish the same task. I do like that the control sticks are now removable and store inside the unit for easy transportation, which is a thoughtful touch.

Overall, I’m very pleased with the upgrade and highly recommend the new Mavic 2 Pro! I used it on this assignment for an engineering client that was instrumental in the development of the Hamlin Plantation neighborhood.

Headshots for First Citizens Bank

I’ve enjoyed working with First Citizens Bank for many years. They are such a great group of individuals. And we always have so much fun at our photo sessions!

Last week I photographed their Wealth Management group at the downtown office. And since I get a lot of questions about my “on-location” studio, I did a little behind-the-scenes video of the setup and how it all works.

Of course every client is different…different background, different lighting style, different posing, etc. But this is how I set up at all the First Citizens banks to keep it consistent for their branding: Savage TV Grey background, Manfrotto background stands, Manfrotto light stands, Westcott Apollo 50″ softbox main light, 3 SB-5000 speedlights in main light, Westcott 60″ umbrella as fill light, 1 SB-5000 speedlight in fill light, Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod, Nikon D5 camera, Sony XQD memory cards, Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VRII lens, Nikon WR-R10 wireless transmitter for lights, and Lenovo Yoga laptop (tethered to camera) for proofing.

If you’re a fellow photographer looking to get ideas for your next shoot, I hope this gives you some inspiration.

If you’re a company representative looking to hire a photographer for your next photo shoot, we’d be delighted to serve you!  More information is available at:  https://chrisandcami.com/gallery/corporate/.

Aerial Photos for Trident Construction

I love my job!!! Sometimes I get to do the coolest assignments.

Yesterday I got to photograph aerial photos for one of my favorite clients, Trident Construction. I’ve done a lot of aerial photos for them with my drone. But we needed a few shots from a higher perspective than the drone legally allows. So we went flying in a helicopter!

Many thanks to Robert at Fly in Helicopters for setting us up, to our pilot Randy for an exceptional flight, and to Elizabeth for helping coordinate and direct the shoot!
