PNC Bank Elite Awards Banquet – Westin Savannah Harbor Resort

It was an absolute pleasure photographing the PNC Elite Awards Banquet at the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort earlier this week!

Because all the Elite Awards Winners were going to be receiving complimentary headshots during cocktail hour, my good friend and amazing photographer, Jason, joined me so we could double the pace. We set up two identical shooting stations on either side of a Savage Studio Gray backdrop. This allowed us two have two shooting stations going full tilt so we could get everyone photographed before the awards banquet began.

Once everyone had gotten their portraits made, Jason and I quickly repurposed several of the off-camera speedlights to use as spot-lights on the stage. As each award winner was called up, I photographed the formal shot of them receiving the award, while Jason coverd the podium and candids of the crowd cheering and clapping for their friends. It was a fun and exciting night!

Many thanks to Laura at KLH Group, as well as Margeaux & Danielle at PNC Bank, for trusting us with this assignment and keeping everything organized.

US Grains Council 21st International Marketing Conference – Guatemala (Day 3)

In the heart of Guatemala City, amidst the bustling streets and vibrant culture, the 21st International Marketing Conference hosted by the US Grains Council unfolded at the prestigious Westin Camino Real Hotel. As a photographer tasked with capturing the essence of this significant event, I embarked on a visual journey that not only documented moments but also encapsulated the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and global connectivity.

Nestled against the backdrop of Guatemala’s rich history and diverse landscapes, the Westin Camino Real Hotel provided an exquisite setting for the conference. Its elegant architecture and modern amenities served as the perfect canvas for a gathering of international delegates, industry experts, and policymakers, all convened with a shared goal of advancing global marketing strategies for grains. From the moment I stepped into the conference halls, I was immersed in a whirlwind of activity and engagement…a testament to the connections being forged, both professionally and personally, as delegates from across the globe exchanged ideas, insights, and experiences. Whether it was a passionate speaker captivating the audience or delegates engrossed in deep conversation during networking breaks, every click of the shutter aimed to preserve the energy and synergy of the conference.

Beyond the confines of the meeting rooms, the vibrant culture of Guatemala City provided an enriching backdrop for networking opportunities and social events. From exploring local markets teeming with colors and flavors to capturing candid interactions over traditional Guatemalan cuisine, my lens became a conduit for bridging cultural divides and fostering understanding among attendees. At the heart of the conference were discussions centered around innovation and market development strategies within the grains industry. As speakers shared insights into emerging trends, technological advancements, and sustainable practices, I endeavored to visually convey the spirit of innovation that permeated every aspect of the event.

As I reflect on my experience photographing the 21st International Marketing Conference for the US Grains Council, I am reminded of the profound impact that such gatherings can have in fostering connections, sparking innovation, and driving positive change on a global scale.

Global Ethanol Summit at the National Air and Space Museum

Last week I had the distinct honor of photographing an amazing international conference in Reston, VA, just outside our nation’s capitol.

“The 2023 Global Ethanol Summit (GES) seeks to elevate bioethanol’s international visibility and ongoing successful initiatives as a viable decarbonization solution within the transportation and emerging new uses sectors.

The conference will feature senior-level officials from agriculture, environment and energy ministries from around the world to discuss environmental, human health and economic benefits of ethanol use with industry leaders, while fostering collaboration and trade.

More than 450 ministerial-level officials and senior-level industry leaders, ethanol producers and refiners from over 40 countries have been invited to attend, with the goal of engaging a broad array of international ethanol leaders about the benefits of expanding global use.”

A fabulous Wrap Party was held at the National Air and Space Museum. Attendees had freedom to roam and explore, with guides explaining the history and significance of various aircraft around the facility. Cocktails were served under the Space Shuttle in the James S. McDonnell Space Hanger. A delicious dinner followed under the shadow of the SR-71 Blackbird. Acrobats and magicians kept everyone entertained. And a fantastic celebration was had by all!

But the program was split into two tracks, allowing attendees to select which keynote presentations and discussion panels would fit their interest the best. After the networking luncheon, a historic 4 countries signed letters of intent. Closing remarks were nade bt Ryan LeGrand, President and CEO, U.S. Grains Council. And we also captured more group portraits of various countries, as well as the USGC staff.
