Global Ethanol Summit at the National Air and Space Museum

Last week I had the distinct honor of photographing an amazing international conference in Reston, VA, just outside our nation’s capitol.

“The 2023 Global Ethanol Summit (GES) seeks to elevate bioethanol’s international visibility and ongoing successful initiatives as a viable decarbonization solution within the transportation and emerging new uses sectors.

The conference will feature senior-level officials from agriculture, environment and energy ministries from around the world to discuss environmental, human health and economic benefits of ethanol use with industry leaders, while fostering collaboration and trade.

More than 450 ministerial-level officials and senior-level industry leaders, ethanol producers and refiners from over 40 countries have been invited to attend, with the goal of engaging a broad array of international ethanol leaders about the benefits of expanding global use.”

A fabulous Wrap Party was held at the National Air and Space Museum. Attendees had freedom to roam and explore, with guides explaining the history and significance of various aircraft around the facility. Cocktails were served under the Space Shuttle in the James S. McDonnell Space Hanger. A delicious dinner followed under the shadow of the SR-71 Blackbird. Acrobats and magicians kept everyone entertained. And a fantastic celebration was had by all!

But the program was split into two tracks, allowing attendees to select which keynote presentations and discussion panels would fit their interest the best. After the networking luncheon, a historic 4 countries signed letters of intent. Closing remarks were nade bt Ryan LeGrand, President and CEO, U.S. Grains Council. And we also captured more group portraits of various countries, as well as the USGC staff.

National Ethanol Conference – Orlando, Florida

Ready. Set. Go!

The National Ethanol Conference (NEC) is the most widely attended executive-level conference for the ethanol industry. Industry leaders from across the United States and countries from all over the world are drawn to this annual event. Since 1996, the Renewable Fuels Association’s NEC has been recognized as the most important ethanol conference to attend for the latest, most timely information on marketing, legislative and regulatory issues facing the industry.

It was an absolute pleasure to photograph this year’s conference at the incredible Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida. With keynote presentations from the likes of Medal of Honor Recipient Sal Giunta, Governor Kim Reynolds of Iowa, and Geoff Cooper, President & CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association…it was a remarkable experience to be a part of.

Many thanks to Mary Giglio and Ken Colombini for bringing me on board! It truly was an honor working with the amazing team at RFA!!!

Export Exchange Conference in Minneapolis – Day 3

With 500 attendees from over 50 countries, The Export Exchange is an international conference held in Minneapolis, that provides overseas attendees the opportunity to build relationships with U.S. suppliers of distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS), corn, sorghum, barley and other commodities. The speaker line-up for this year’s conference was a “who’s who” array of experts in the industry, with a variety of programs to educate and build awareness of environmental sustainability, weather patterns, the world political climate, historical data trends, and the benefits of U.S. products. Event sponsors from all over the country were also there, displaying products, answering questions, and building relationships with buyers.

In addition to hosting the conference, The U.S. Grains Council sponsored the attendance of international trade teams from more than 30 countries that will see the U.S. grain supply chain firsthand before and after the conference.

Day 3 of the conference capitalized on all the informative presentations and relationship-building from the previous two days! There were many more powerful presentations, as well as panel discussions for everyone to attend. Plus there were many new connections established during the networking breaks. The day culminated in a fun group shot of all the amazing people on the US Grains Council team that made this whole conference possible! Export Exchange Conference in Detroit

Nearly 200 international buyers and end-users came together in Detroit last week, eager to meet and build relationships with more than 300 domestic suppliers in attendance over three days of educational sessions and networking opportunities.

Held every two years by USGC and RFA, Export Exchange is the nation’s premier international trade conference focused on the export of U.S. coarse grains and co-products. This record-breaking event in 2014 attracted buying teams from 33 countries, including all of the top U.S. international grain markets.

As voices for U.S. farmers and agribusinesses – and trusted ambassadors for free and fair trade with customers around the world – the U.S. Grains Council and the Renewable Fuels Association were excited to host this event to help expand established export markets and establish new markets.

It was my pleasure to be the official photographer again for this amazing event!!!

Team from US Grains Council Tours Iowa Corn

One of my favorite parts about my job is that no two assignments are the same. Last week I got to photograph something really cool, educational, and unique!

The US Grains Council assigned me to document a delegation from Mexico as they toured Iowa corn farms, export facilities, and ethanol plants. This team was part of a program leading up to the Export Exchange Conference. Held every two years by USGC and RFA, Export Exchange is the nation’s premier international trade conference focused on the export of U.S. coarse grains and co-products.

Many thanks to the US Grains Council for their hard work and dedication to helping the American farmer. Much appreciation to the Renewable Fuels Association for their advancement of renewable fuels in our country.  And thanks also to the fine folks at Iowa Corn for their hospitality and leadership on this program.  I am honored and humbled at the opportunity to work with such amazing organizations!!!
