High-key Headshots for Atlas Consulting

I always love to hear when a client’s business is doing well. Atlas Consulting won the Roaring 20s award, and is recognized as one of the fastest growing small businesses in Charleston!

As they continue to expand their operations, they continue to bring on new team members. Last week I had the pleasure of photographing some of the latest additions to the firm.

CONGRATULATIONS on your continued success, Paul!!!

Office Headshots

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes peek at the setup I used for photographing headshots in a client’s office today.

The assignment included a Nikon D5, Nikkor 70-200 f2.8, 4 Nikon SB-5000 speedlights, 2 Manfrotto light stands, 2 Westcott umbrellas, and a Lenove laptop tethered to the camera with Adobe Lightroom.

They were a great group and I had a wonderful time working with them!!!

Victoria Capital Management

Earlier this week I had the honor of photographing the AMAZING team at Victoria Capital Management.

Diane and the rest of the firm had just been featured in Charleston Magazine. And they wanted to commemorate another successful year together by updating their head-shots and team photos. Congratulations to everyone!

If you’re looking for a great financial planner to work with, check them out at www.vcm.us.com. They are the nicest people you could ever hope to work with!

High-Key Headshots for Bridge Commercial

A few days ago I had the privilege of meeting Alex. Alex is the newest member of the amazing team of commercial real-estate agents at Bridge Commercial. He moved to Charleston a couple months ago from his home in Florida. He’s excited to be joining one of the most respected firms in Charleston, and start this new chapter in his life!

Setting up in the lobby, I set up a white backdrop and created a high-key look by lighting the fabric with a single Nikon SB-5000 flash. I then created a nice soft main light by firing 2 SB-5000 flashes into a large 60″ Westcott shoot-through umbrella just out of frame on camera left. And I added a little fill light by firing another SB-5000 flash through a second 60″ umbrella just to the right of the camera. All stands and tripods were by Manfrotto. I selected the Nikon D5 and Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VRII to shoot with. The camera was tethered to a Lenovo Yoga laptop for instant previews so that Alex could pick out his favorite.

It was a pleasure meeting and photographing Alex. I look forward to seeing great things from this young man!

Headshots and Aerials for Nautilus

It’s been a year or so since I photographed updated headshots and team photos for the Nautilus company in Mt. Pleasant. It was great seeing everyone again, and photographing the new members of their team!

After photographing all the headshots and group photos, I also captured some aerial drone images of their office and the surrounding views. They are located near Shem Creek, which is a beautiful part of Mt. Pleasant. With no wind, clear skies, and beautiful light, the aerial photos turned out great!

Everyone at Nautilus is always fantastic to work with. I’m already looking forward to our next shoot!!!

Earl Klugh’s Kiawah Weekend of Jazz

Returning to photograph Earl Klugh’s 10th Annual Kiawah Weekend of Jazz was an honor and a pleasure! Being surrounded by such incredible music all weekend always lifts my spirits. And being able to capture dramatic images of such legends as Earl Klugh, Gladys Knight, Boney James, Christian McBride, and Kandace Springs gives me goosebumps every time I think about it!

Holmes Family at The Timbers on Kiawah Island

We couldn’t have asked for a prettier day, or a more amazing family to work with!  A few days ago, Cami and I met up with the Holmes family at The Timbers on Kiawah Island. It was a perfect, sunny, 67-degree day, with no wind, and no bugs. How could it get any better? Well, if you throw in a beautiful couple from Ohio, their wonderful parents from Florida, and three absolutely ADORABLE kids…that’s how! 🙂

Steve Ward

Yesterday I had a real treat, catching up with my old tennis friend Steve Ward, and photographing some new marketing photos for his thriving wealth management firm, Aletheia Financial.

If you need a financial planner who TRULY cares about his clients, give Steve a call at 843-224-1802!!!

Amerisure Champions Circle

As a full time professional photographer in Charleston, it’s good to have a great network of trusted colleagues in the industry. Often we get multiple requests for assignments on the same day, or requests for assignments that are so big that they require multiple photographers all shooting at once.

My friend Gary at Coleman Photography is one of those trusted shooters that I can always count on when needed. Earlier this week, I had the honor of returning the favor when he asked me to cover an awards banquet for Amerisure while he was on another assignment.

The Amerisure Champions Circle was an awards gala in honor of their top performers. It was held at the beautiful old historic William Aiken House. And it was planned and orchestrated by the amazing team at Destination South. CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners!!!

Round 2 for Atlas Consulting

A few days ago I had the privilege of photographing a second round of headshots for Atlas Consulting. Everyone I have met at this organization has just been AWESOME to work with!!!

Wildlife Photography Workshop at Center for Birds of Prey

This past weekend, I had the honor of leading the second annual Wildlife Photography Workshop at the Center for Birds of Prey: http://www.thecenterforbirdsofprey.org/visit/special_events/instructor-led-photography-workshop/.

We had an AMAZING time photographing these amazing creatures, learning new techniques, acquiring new skills to use in the field, and simply having a BLAST!!!

Many thanks to Kara, Natalie, and the rest of the team for all their hard work and preparation in pulling this event off! And a huge shout out to all the wonderful attendees!!!

If you missed it this year, I hope you’ll join me next fall for #3. 🙂
