Mylo’s Puppy Portriats

Meet Mylo! He’s a super sweet 16-year old Pomeranian. He may be mostly deaf and nearly blind, but for being as old as he is Mylo is still active and in great health. I had so much fun hanging out with Mylo and his “parents”, Jocelyn and Lawrence, at Hampton Park last evening! He truly is a special pup who found a beautiful home and has had a wonderful life!!!

Pet Portraits

Cami and I are animal lovers! I always enjoy photographing pets. So while we were visiting family over the holidays, I offered to do a few portraits of their beloved 4-legged fur-babies!!! 🙂

Animal Eye-Detect with the Nikon Z9

As most of you know, Cami has a HUGE heart and absolutely adores loving on every dog she meets!

This week, she’s been watching over Callie & Jax, whos owners are away for a much-needed vacation. She asked me if I wanted to come over to their house tonight to take a few pictures of these beautiful dogs for the owners. Not having had a chance to test out the Animal Eye-Detection mode of the new Z9, I jumped at the idea! Don’t worry, I didn’t do it for free…Cami rewarded me with a delicious Thai dinner, asparagus, and quinoa with brown rice. 🙂

But I had to earn my meal. So we went out to their back yard and I got to work. With the Z9 set to back-button AF, using Dynamic Area Auto-Focus mode, and choosing Animal Eye-Detect, any time I pointed the the camera towards Callie or Jax, it immediately snapped right onto their eyes. It was absolutely magical! The early evening light was spectacular. And we came away with some fun images for Callie & Jax’s owners to enjoy when they get home. 🙂

Porch Portraits with the Roberts Family

If you don’t have an AMAZING eye-doctor already, I highly recommend Dr. Lori at Belle Hall Eye Care! That’s who I choose to take care of my eyes and she’s fantastic.

A few days ago I had the privilege of photographing Porch Portraits or “Porchaits” for her and her amazing daughter. We had so much fun, capturing photos of Ellie playing with their chickens, horses, cats and dogs. 🙂 Using telephoto lenses, I was able to shoot all these from over 6 feet away while keeping my social-distancing and helping to flatten the curve.

Dr. Lori and Ellie are such beautiful young ladies, both inside and out. It was such an honor preserving these memories for them!!!

Prioleau Family at Hampton Park

In my younger days, I played on a tennis team at the Maybank Tennis Center with my good friend Jeff. His wife, Toni, is the tennis pro out there. Their son, Ryan, played on the pro tour for a little while. And their daughter, Kristen, now plays out of Maybank.

It was so great catching up with all of them (minus Ryan who lives in the upstate), during their family Christmas photo session at Hampton Park. This was also our first time meeting Kristen’s wonderful husband, Tony, and their beautiful daughter, Charlotte!

We were blessed with a gorgeous sunny day, and had so much fun capturing these beautiful memories for our friends.  We love you guys!  🙂

Reviere Family at Hampton Park

For my last family portrait session before Christmas, what a pleasure it was to be with the Reviere Family!

Their son is a recruiter for a financial firm in New York. And their daughter just started medical school at MUSC. So they all congregated in Charleston to be together as a family for the holidays!

As part of his wife’s Christmas gift, Dee contacted me to photograph some updated portraits for their family…and yes, the dogs are definitely part of the family! 🙂 We met at Hampton Park for a beautiful morning session. I had so much fun with this amazing and loving family!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Fisher & Whitehead Families at Colonial Lake

I always love photographing the Fisher Family! We go way back. Which means I’ve had so much fun watching their family grow over the years!!! 🙂  Over the weekend, I met up with Holly, Clint, and Kate at the newly renovated Colonial Lake in downtown Charleston for another family portrait session with them.  They even brought their four-legged family members!

As an added bonus, they also brought their good friends and former neighbors, the Whitehead family. It was so neat to meet another wonderful family that’s just as fun, friendly, and full of life as the Fishers!

We all had a BLAST and came away with some beautiful images, just in time for a dramatic sunset over the Ashley River!

Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue

Everyone meet Daisy!  J  Kate from the Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue brought Daisy over to “play” with us at the studio today.  She’s a real sweetheart, calm, behaved, and SUPER loving!  As you know, we got our beautiful Marly from the LCGRR program and highly recommend them if you’re ready to adopt.  And we couldn’t think of a more deserving dog than Daisy!!!  Head over to their website and check out her bio…

Cami & I are animal lovers.  She volunteers with the Charleston Animal Society.  Plus we recently started donating our services to the Low Country Retriever Rescue organization by photographing Goldens that are looking for a new home.  This is Mimi.  She’s been abused, shot at, and found wandering the highways all alone.  But you would not believe what a sweetheart she is…not a mean bone in her body even after all that!  We adopted our beautiful Marley from the LCRR and encourage you to do the same.  (Check out his picture at https://chrisandcami.com/blog/2009/08/28/introducing-marley-2/.)
