Robert Lyles for Super Lawers Magazine

Yesterday I drove down to Beaufort for a really cool assignment. I was there to photograph attorney Robert Lyles of Lyles & Associates for an article in Super Lawyers Magazine.

Lyles & Associates provide clients with extensive legal experience regarding all aspects of matters involving construction related insurance litigation. Having been involved in construction and related insurance litigation since 1989, the attorneys at Lyles & Associates have know what it takes to represent owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, product manufacturers and sellers in such disputes.

Using the Nikon Z9 and Nikkor Z 24-70 f2.8, I set up one off-camera Flashpoint eVolve 200 Pro in a softbox as the main light. And I used a second off-camera Flashpoint speedlight as a “kicker” light on the opposite side. I used Manfrotto light-stands and tripods for support. And I used my HP Envy laptop to review the images with Robert after the shoot so he could pick out his favorite.

Headshots for Pierce Sloan Kennedy & Early

I’ve really enjoyed working with the friendly team at Pierce Sloan Kennedy & Early over the years! I first met them on a profile piece I was photographing of their principles for Super Lawyers Magazine. We hit it off and I’ve been photographing their attorney’s headshots ever since.

Comprised of a team of legal strategists who truly live and breathe in the space of litigation, Pierce, Sloan, Kennedy & Early LLC not only focuses on the broader legal issues you might face but also realizes the little details that could cause anxiety or stress. In other words, they focus on eliminating your legal problems so you can focus on what really matters.

Today I had the honor of photographing Graylin & Austin, the newest attorneys on their team. Graylin & Austin actually became friends while attending the Charleston School of Law together. How cool is it that they ended up at the same firm!!!

Headshots for Weeks & Irvine

It was a dreary, drizzly day to drive to Mauldin…which is up near Greenville. But photographing the newest team member for Weeks & Irvine was totally worth it! After photographing his headshot, I visited the North Charleston location to photograph two more new team members. Everyone was so much fun to work with! And the photos turned out great! Many thanks to Nicole for coordinating everyone’s schedules to make this happen. 🙂

Headshots for the Joye Law Firm

The best part of my job is meeting new, fun, and friendly people!!!

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing some new headshots for the Joye Law Firm. I’ve been working with their team for a few years now. And everyone they hire always seems to be so happy! I’d say this law firm must be really great to work for. Having a friendly work environment and a pleasant culture to be a part of makes for happy employees!!!

Rosen Hagood Marketing Photos

Last year, I had the pleasure of photographing the Grand Opening of the new Rosen Hagood office. I had a great time and really enjoyed working with them. So I was extremely pleased when they reached out again to see if I could help them with some new marketing and branding photos for their website!

Usually law firms request fairly standard headshots. But the Rosen Hagood Law Firm decided they wanted something different! As a creative, I LOVED the concept they pitched. They were looking for something more casual, artistic, and classic. What better way to do that then with some timeless black-and-white, right?!?

Many thanks to Morgan for helping to coordinate everyone’s schedules and share their ideas…

Headshots for Weeks & Irvine

Becca moved here to attend the Charleston School of Law. She specialized in real-estate law. And has joined the amazing team at Weeks & Irvine! It was a pleasure photographing her headshots this morning.

Not only has Bacca had a great start to her new career, she’s also getting married in 5 weeks! She and her fiance, along with 140 of their favorite friends and family, are heading to Key West to tie the knot. How fun is that? 🙂

Everyone help me congratulate Becca on her new position…and on her upcoming wedding!!!

Headshots for Joye Law Firm

In a complex personal injury case, two sisters suffered severe and permanent injuries as passengers in a Tesla accident in Charleston. The case was handled by Attorney Mark Joye of the Joye Law Firm. The litigation involved challenging negotiations with the Cincinnati Insurance Company, which initially understated the available insurance coverage. Ultimately, Mark was able to get a $2,417,500 settlement for the sisters. This case highlights the importance of skilled legal representation in personal injury cases.

It was an honor to photograph updated headshots for the Joye Law Firm last week. I set up a portable studio in their atrium, with a white background, and a high-key Rembrandt lighting style. I used the Nikon Z9, Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 Z, Flashpoint speedlights (x5), Manfrotto supports, and Westcott umbrellas. Of course I created serious portraits of each employee. But my favorites are the fun “outtakes” that I frequently throw in to help people get relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera!!! 🙂

Many thanks to Nicole & Rachel for coordinating schedules and helping organize the shoot.

Joye Law Firm Marketing Photos

I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Joye Law Firm over the years. This week we photographed a variety of new marketing photos for them. They are a great group and everyone is always so nice!

Reese Joye opened the doors of the Joye Law Firm in 1968 to guide people through some of the most difficult times of their lives. Mark Joye and Ken Harrell are the partners who carry on that tradition. Today, their South Carolina accident attorneys work diligently to do more than help their clients get the compensation they deserve – they help restore the quality of their lives.

Pierce Sloan Kennedy & Early for Super Lawyers Magazine

I have enjoyed being one of the designated photographers for Super Lawyers Magazine for many years.

This week I had the pleasure of photographing the attorneys from Pierce Sloan Kennedy & Early for an upcoming article in Super Lawyers Magazine!

Headshots for McCabe Trotter & Beverly

Over the years, I’ve developed some wonderful relationships within the photography industy. Charleston…and South Carolina as a whole…has a wonderfully supportive cummunity of photographers. If a client contacts me and I’m not available, I find out what they are looking for and recommend several photographers who I know personally, and trust to do a great job for them. Frequently, that good karma comes back to me!

Last week, my friend and amazingly talented photographer, Clark Berry, passed along one of his clients for me. Clark is from Columbia, and photographs headshots for McCabe, Trotter & Beverly, P.C. But when they opened a new branch in Charleston, Clark’s schedule was too tight to drive all the way down here for one headshot. So he recommended me! He also sent me samples of how he photographed the ones in Columbia, what lights he used, and even a behind-the-scenes photo of his setup.

From that information, I was able to meet up with attorney Jim Lady at the new office, and capture a variety of headshots that mirrored the style Clark had used on the original photos!

Pierce Sloan Kennedy & Early

It’s been a real privilege to work with the law firm of Pierce Sloan Kennedy & Early over the years. I first worked with them while photographing an article for Super Lawyers Magazine that they were featured in. We hit it off and I’ve enjoyed creating headshots and team photos for their attorneys ever since!

This morning I captured some new group shots for them with the Nikon Z9, Nikkor Z 24-120 f4, and Sony XQD cards. The color and clarity of this new camera system just amazes me. And the high-resolution sensor will ensure they get a beautiful print of it, regardless of how big they enlarge it!

McLeod Law Group

One of the best parts of my job is meeting new and interesting people!

The other day I got to meet an amazing team of attorneys at the McLeod Law Group. I was there photographing them for a profile article being written in Super Lawyers Magazine. Cooper Wilson was my main contact, who was super helpful with logistics, scheduling, and organizing their team. Mullins McLeod was the principal attorney, and had so many crazy stories from his time practicing law. Everyone was such a pleasure to work with and we came away with a variety of great shots for them to choose from.

Ultimately, they selected the one with the reflection in the conference room desk as their favorite! The images was captured on a Nikon Z9 with 24-120 f4 S lens placed just above the surface of the table using a Manfrotto tripod. To expose for the sky, I shot at ISO 200, f7.1, 1/250 sec. To create a wall of artificial light that would balance out that daylight, I added 4 SB-5000 speedlights firing through 2 Westcott 60″ umbrellas at camera left.

It was an absolute pleasure working with this fantastic team of attorneys! They have an impeccable record and a ton of 5-star reviews. Check them out at: https://mcleod-lawgroup.com/?utm_source=GMB&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=charleston.
