Hannah at Boone Hall Plantation

I got to go “play” with one of my absolute FAVORITE young ladies at Boone Hall Plantation earlier this week. Thanks, Lindsay, for letting your beautiful girl hang out with me for a while. What a fun day!!!

Stefanie & Randy on the Carolina Girl

Stefanie & Randy live in Atlanta. When they started planning their destination wedding to Charleston, they fell in love with the Carolina Girl!

“Our goal for the wedding is to ensure everyone has a great time on the Carolina Girl and to make it a weekend to remember!”

Well, Stefanie & Randy’s hopes and dreams came true last weekend!!! Their wedding was such an AMAZING celebration…with family and friends coming in from all over GA, FL, SC and NC to join in the party. Captain Bob and the amazing folks on the Carolina Girl were awesome as usual, and everything was absolutely perfect!

Stefanie & Randy, congratulations on a beautiful ceremony and an amazing party! May God bless you as you begin your new journey together!!!

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — World No. 1 Serena Williams will try to win three straight times at the Family Circle Cup in South Carolina.

Organizers said Monday that Williams will return to the Family Circle Tennis Center for next year’s tournament, which will be played from March 31st through April 6th.

Williams has won the clay-court event in 2008, 2012 and last spring. She holds a 15-match win streak at the season’s opening clay-court tournament. This will be Williams’ eighth appearance at the Family Circle where she has a 22-4 career mark.

Williams said the Family Circle is one of her favorite stops on the WTA Tour and that Charleston feels like home because the fans are supportive.

Williams has won 10 titles this season, including victories at the French Open and U.S. Open

A Touching Review

WOW!  We are humbled…and touched…by the wonderful review Rachel & Dave just posted for us on www.WeddingWire.com!  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  You guys were just amazing to work with.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!  🙂

“STUNNING, GORGEOUS, PHENOMENAL, & PERFECTION! I am BEYOND pleased with the creativity & quality we were provided with from our photographers, Chris & Cami Smith. Their images will help provide my husband and I crystal clear, vivid memories of our special day in the years to come. Every tear, laugh, smile, hug, etc. was captured. Not only are the pictures fabulous, but working along side Chris for 9 hours on such a big day was such a stress reliever with his awesome personality. He made you feel special with each click of the camera and captured images you can only dream of.

We are from Pennsylvania and decided to have an out of town wedding in South Carolina. We were nervous to find a vendor that we were unfamiliar with to capture on camera our BIG day. Well, needless to say, our fears were quickly vanished once we spoke on the phone with Chris & Cami and saw their amazing work online! My husband and I, along with all of our family & friends agree the uniqueness and quality of our wedding pictures are something you cannot receive back home in PA. Once my husband and I start a family we want to travel back down to SC to have family photos done by Chris & Cami because we are so impressed with their work.

Chris and Cami are truly a dynamic duo who are passionate about photography and this is proved through their amazing work. Photography is not a job to them, it is a way of life and a way to piece together memories that will forever be cherished. I would hands down recommend Chris & Cami for ANY of your photography needs!!!!!!”    – Rachel & Dave

Katie & Matt’s Waterfront Park Engagement Session

We were on our “Smith Family Vacation” last June when Katie called to ask about us photographing her wedding. She sounded so sweet and super excited on the phone…I couldn’t wait to meet her!

The following week I met with her & her mom! She was exactly as I imagined…so beautiful, exhuberant, and full of life! Katie is a 5th grade teacher. And let me tell you…whover the kids are in her class, they are VERY lucky to have her!

The other day I got to meet Matt for the first time at their Engagement Session. What a cool guy! Quiet at first (until he gets to know you…HA!), Matt is a true southern gentleman. And as you can tell, they are big sports fans as well. 😉

Watching Katie & Matt interact, a glance, a smile, the way they “fit”, the amazing connection they share…it’s so much fun witnessing couples who are so perfect for each other!!!

Meghann & Greg at Alhambra Hall

They FINALLY did it!!! Our absolutely favorite neighbors in the world, finally tied the knot last weekend. 🙂

Meghann & Greg have become good friends since we moved into our new home many years ago. They are an AMAZING couple with…so down-to-earth, full of life, incredibly generous, always thoughtful and caring, and just a BLAST to hang out with!

We were so excited for them when Greg popped the question under a giant sequoia tree while they were on vacation. And what an honor it was when they asked Cami & I to be there to capture all the fun and excitement of their special day! We had a really fun time on their unique engagement session in Charleston Harbor. And we had even MORE FUN at their wedding celebration!!!

CONGRATULATIONS Meghann & Greg! May God bless you as you begin your new journey together…

Business Head-shots for Chris McKee

Since our wedding/family portrait clients mostly find us online, and our business/corporate clients mostly come through word-of-mouth referrals, we don’t post as many of the latter on our blog and social media outlets.

Chris McKee was such an outstanding subject, and is so much fun to work with, that I couldn’t help sharing a couple favorite shots from his shoot. I could title this “The Many Sides of Mr. McKee”! Although his an incredibly successful entrepreneur and business executive, Chris is very down to earth and has one of those charismatic personalities that draws you in and fascinates you from the moment you meet him.

I’ve photographed Chris before. But this was the first time in the more formal studio head-shot environment. He did a fantastic job of showing me a ton of different “looks”. And we came away with a wide variety of images for his marketing and promotional material!

Meghann & Greg’s Rehearsal Dinner Party

Cami & I were so excited when our FAVORITE next door neighbors shared with us that they were getting married. You couldn’t find a more perfect couple! And we were deeply honored when they asked us to photograph their Big Greek Wedding!!!

Here are a few fun photos from the night of their Rehearsal Dinner at Goldbug Island. I can’t wait to share their wedding photos as soon as we’re done editing them!!! So many fun memories…   🙂

Jackie & Jeremy at St. Luke’s Chapel

It will be a year this November when Jackie contacted us through her FABULOUS wedding planner, Stephanie Gibbs of www.SweetGrassEvents.com. I loved how EXCITED she was about being engaged to the man of her dreams…and how eager she was to get started planning their Big Day! 🙂

I arrived to find Jackie and her girls getting ready in her suite at the Francis Marion Hotel. Her hair and makeup was perfect, her wedding gown was absolutely stunning! They had hired a really cool bus from www.Tctslimo.com to transport everyone to the church. So off we went…

St. Luke’s Chapel is one of my FAVORITE churches in Charleston! I just love the old wooden beams, stained glass windows, and beautiful courtyard. Jackie & Jeremy’s ceremony was a wonderful event. Real men aren’t afraid to show their emotions, and Jeremy was clearly struck by how amazing Jackie looked as she came down the isle. His son, Evan, filled the role of ring-bearer admirably. And the whole event was highlighted by their passionate “First Kiss”. 🙂

After wedding party photos, it was back on the party buss to the Francis Marion Hotel. After a few fun shots in Marion Square, Jackie & Jeremy greeted their guests at the entrance to their decked out ballroom. From then on, the party rocked non-stop with their first dance, fun toasts, amazing food, photo booth, candy table, garter & bouquet toss, awesome tunes, crazy dancing, and even some fun “light painting” photos with sparklers at the end!

We all had an AMAZING time at Jackie & Ceremy’s celebration. CONGRATULATIONS to you both…may God bless you as you journey down this new path together!!!

Running Scared at Boone Hall Plantation

Earlier today, just prior to the official opening of Boone Hall Fright Nights, mobs came out to experience an all new event that surely got their hearts pounding. Running Scared was a 5K run, walk, crawl…however they could make it through the Zombie Apocalypse course. I had the sick, dimented, joy of being there to photograph it for my good friend, wackiest dude in town, and official photographer of Fright Night, Gary Coleman. Thanks for the laughs, old pal!!! 🙂

Chrissy & Mike at the Herrington Inn, Geneva

When I met Chrissy at a special occasion in Charleston several years ago…I just KNEW she was going to be a beautiful bride someday! Having no clue what future fate had in store…I half-jokingly told her she just HAD to call me when she got married!!! 🙂

What a joy and a privilege it was to receive “that” phone call from Chrissy, shortly after Mike asked her to be his bride over the Christmas holidays! The excitement in her voice was contagious!!!

Here we are many months, many emails, and many phone calls later. And I have to say Chrissy & Mike’s weddings was one of my all-time favorites!!! It was such an honor to be with Chrissy and her amazing family again. Reconnecting with such wonderful people is one of the biggest benefits of what I do. Getting to know Mike and his family was equally special!

Chrissy and Mike had found a beautful, historic, rustic inn…located in picturesque Geneva, one of Chicago’s suburbs. Arriving a day early, I was able to scout all the gorgeous locations where Chrissy & Mike wanted to do photos…plus scope out a few of my own. I had a blast catching up with everyone at the Rehearsal Dinner, which I don’t get to do very often. Then it was off to rest for the Big Day!

Chrissy & Mike had planned to have their “First Glance” at the Inn, which I loved! Then they’d arranged for a trolley to drive the whole wedding party around town for photos at all the fun locations we’d picked out. We got the party started early, and had an AMAZING time…laughing and creating beautiful images along the way.

Back at the Herrington Inn, the “girls” and “boys” went to their separate wings to catch their breath and freshen up before the main event. The courtyard was beautifully decorated. All the attention that Chrissy & Mike had put into planning every detail of the day trully showed! An emotional entrance, a touching exchange, a humerous homily, a smile and a kiss…and they were married!!!

Held in the adjoining ballroom, Chrissy & Mike’s reception took no back seat to the reception! After a short walk across the bridge for some “private time” and amazing sunset photos in the park, it was time for dinner. An amazing spread, complete with bottles of “Jones” soda (per Mike’s last name), greated the excited guests! Touching toasts and a delicious meal ensued.

Eventually the party got cranked up a notch (OR THREE) with dancing and celebrating like you’ve never seen before!!! The electric atmosphere continued into the night until Chrissy & Mike’s grand departure through a sea of sparklers and shouts of encouragement from friends and family…

CONGRATULATIONS Chrissy & Mike! May God bless you as you begin your new journey together…

Clawson & Staubes Annual Summit

I always enjoy working with the fine folks at Clawson & Staubes. Not only are they a long-time client, but I use their services and can personally attest to their professionalism and attention to detail!

This weekend is their Annual Summit. So I had the pleasure of photographing their group photo, as well as individual shots for new attorneys. They use our images in all their marketing, social media, press releases, and website.

If you work for, or know of a company, looking for updated photos to use in their promotional material…we’d be delighted to help!
