When I met Chrissy at a special occasion in Charleston several years ago…I just KNEW she was going to be a beautiful bride someday! Having no clue what future fate had in store…I half-jokingly told her she just HAD to call me when she got married!!! 🙂
What a joy and a privilege it was to receive “that” phone call from Chrissy, shortly after Mike asked her to be his bride over the Christmas holidays! The excitement in her voice was contagious!!!
Here we are many months, many emails, and many phone calls later. And I have to say Chrissy & Mike’s weddings was one of my all-time favorites!!! It was such an honor to be with Chrissy and her amazing family again. Reconnecting with such wonderful people is one of the biggest benefits of what I do. Getting to know Mike and his family was equally special!
Chrissy and Mike had found a beautful, historic, rustic inn…located in picturesque Geneva, one of Chicago’s suburbs. Arriving a day early, I was able to scout all the gorgeous locations where Chrissy & Mike wanted to do photos…plus scope out a few of my own. I had a blast catching up with everyone at the Rehearsal Dinner, which I don’t get to do very often. Then it was off to rest for the Big Day!
Chrissy & Mike had planned to have their “First Glance” at the Inn, which I loved! Then they’d arranged for a trolley to drive the whole wedding party around town for photos at all the fun locations we’d picked out. We got the party started early, and had an AMAZING time…laughing and creating beautiful images along the way.
Back at the Herrington Inn, the “girls” and “boys” went to their separate wings to catch their breath and freshen up before the main event. The courtyard was beautifully decorated. All the attention that Chrissy & Mike had put into planning every detail of the day trully showed! An emotional entrance, a touching exchange, a humerous homily, a smile and a kiss…and they were married!!!
Held in the adjoining ballroom, Chrissy & Mike’s reception took no back seat to the reception! After a short walk across the bridge for some “private time” and amazing sunset photos in the park, it was time for dinner. An amazing spread, complete with bottles of “Jones” soda (per Mike’s last name), greated the excited guests! Touching toasts and a delicious meal ensued.
Eventually the party got cranked up a notch (OR THREE) with dancing and celebrating like you’ve never seen before!!! The electric atmosphere continued into the night until Chrissy & Mike’s grand departure through a sea of sparklers and shouts of encouragement from friends and family…
CONGRATULATIONS Chrissy & Mike! May God bless you as you begin your new journey together…
