CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — World No. 1 Serena Williams will try to win three straight times at the Family Circle Cup in South Carolina.
Organizers said Monday that Williams will return to the Family Circle Tennis Center for next year’s tournament, which will be played from March 31st through April 6th.
Williams has won the clay-court event in 2008, 2012 and last spring. She holds a 15-match win streak at the season’s opening clay-court tournament. This will be Williams’ eighth appearance at the Family Circle where she has a 22-4 career mark.
Williams said the Family Circle is one of her favorite stops on the WTA Tour and that Charleston feels like home because the fans are supportive.
Williams has won 10 titles this season, including victories at the French Open and U.S. Open
