Court Atkins Architects Corporate Shoot

Thanks to our friend and agent, Kevin Sevier at State Farm, I was invited to photograph new company head shots and team photos for Court Atkins Architects!
This highly saught after group is located in Hilton Head Island and designs a lot of the homes in upscale neighborhoods like Oldfield Plantation and Palmetto Bluff. We met at one of their beautiful properties in Oldfield and had a great time photographing a wide variety of images for their marketing, website, and promotional material.

Shot with Nikon D4, 24-70 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8, up to 6 SB-800 and SB-910 Speedlights, plus Westcott Apollo soft boxes and strip boxes.

Amanda & Ross – Engagement Session at White Point Garden

Ross told me that his mom had insisted we be the FIRST vendor they hire for their wedding. WOW!!! I was blown away when he told me that. It just made my day!

Last weekend Amanda & Ross were in town for their Engagement Session. We met at the gazebo in White Point Garden and walked all around the park, the old histiric district, and The Battery. We had a beautiful day and it was so much fun getting to know them and just hanging out for the evening.

I had photographed Ross’ sister’s wedding, Jessie & Phil, several years ago. So it is a great honor to now be photographing Ross & Amanda’s wedding next month. They are SUCH a cool couple…so much fun to be around! I can’t wait!!!

Boots at Boone Hall Plantation – A Family Portrait Session

It’s been such a pleasure getting to know the Avonce family! Pete’s understated dry sense of humor, Maricela’s creative ideas, and Miraya’s exuberant energy, are always the ingredients for a fun photo shoot! ๐Ÿ™‚

For their Anniversary, Maricella decide on “Boots at Boone Hall Plantation” for a fun idea with a beautiful backdrop to their session. I met up with them in the evening, just as the tourists were heading out, which left us with the place to ourselves. What a wonderful time together! I can’t wait to see what kind of brilliant theme Maricella comes up with for next year!!!

Super Moon over Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge

This weekend my buddy Robbin Knight and I set out to photograph the “Super Moon”. Using The Photographer’s Ephemeris, I had calculated EXACTLY where/when the moon was going to rise, and had driven all over downtown to find the PERFECT spot for a dramatic shot over the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. Alas, we stood out in the drizzle getting eaten by ‘skeeters to no avail. Cameras were aimed in the right spot, bridge perfectly framed, while the moon “invisibly” rose behind an impenetrable wall of cloud cover. So I took a page out of a painter’s handbook…photographed the “scene”, then added the moon from an image I’d taken the previous night at the Hootie & The Blowfish Concert. Here, then, is “reality” as it SHOULD have been if weather had cooperated!!!

Premier Physical Therapy

Yesterday I had a lot of fun photographing head shots for two new PTs at Premier Physical Therapy. Kevin and Morgan were AWESOME! We had a great time coming up with some cool shots for their business profiles on the company website. Plus we couldn’t resist doing a “gangst” pose at the end!!!

Hootie and The Blowfish Homegrown Concert

Hootie and The Blowfish are hometown heroes here in Charleston, where band leader Darius Rucker grew up.

So it was an honor and a pleasure to be invited to shoot a few images of their Homegrown Concert last weekend at the Family Circle Tennis Center. In working for the venue, my job wasn’t necessarily to photograph the band, but to show the space, the view, and the fans having a great time. I only had the first couple songs to do it in. But it was a BLAST! And of course I couldn’t help shooting a few of Hootie while I was at it. Then we got to sit down and enjoy the rest of the concert in that amazingly intimate stadium atmosphere.

Next time your favorite band is in town playing at the Family Circle Tennis Center, don’t miss it!!!

Weinerth Family on Isle of Palms

Big groups often scare other photographers. But I come from a good size family myself…so I fit right in and feel right at home!

A few days ago I had the honor of photographing the extended Weinerth family while they were all vacationing on IOP to celebrate grandma & grandpa’s 50th Anniversary! Everyone was so much fun and we had a BLAST!!!

Congratulations Bobby & Mary!ย  You have a beautiful family.ย  May you have many many more wonderful years together!

US Grains Council in Omaha

I had an AMAZING time photographing the US Grains Council’s Annualย Board of Delegatesย conferenceย last week! This year, the corporate event was held at the beautiful Hilton Hotel in downtown Omaha, NE.

It’s been an honor and a pleasure working for this organization over the past few years. Every event is unique and different. And the group us full of the most amazing, talented, caring, and giving individuals!!!ย  Check them out at www.grains.org.

Kiawah Castle for Solaris Inc

Last week I had an epic multi-day architectural photo shoot on Kiawah Island for my wonderful longtime clients, Solaris Inc.

Steve & the gang have TRULY outdone themsleves on this amazing home! As usual, Julie was so helpful and amazing on each day of the shoot…everything was well organized, each room was perfectly staged, and I was kept well fed and hydrated during the long hours. ๐Ÿ™‚ย  If you’re an interior designer, architect, or builder…and are looking to add great images of your work to your portfolio…let me know.

Sometimes I’m just blown away at the spectacular things my camera allows me to experience…from the poverty of Tijuana…to the lifestyles of the rich and famous!

New Review on the Wedding Channel

Oh my! One of my favorite brides from this year just left us this really sweet review on Wedding Channel:

“Best Photographers Ever! ๐Ÿ™‚ posted 7/17/2014
Oh my goodness! Words cannot describe how much we loved having Chris and Cami Photography for our engagement, bridal and wedding photographers! Our pictures turned out better than I would have ever hoped for! Chris was such a fun and energetic person to work with. He always made me and my husband feel comfortable around the camera and when it came time for the wedding he was everywhere at once. There is not one picture that I wanted that I don’t have. His pictures do more than capture a moment, they really tell a beautiful story. They truly capture the energy of the wedding day and the excitement that everyone was feeling. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so happy that we found Chris and Cami as our photographers and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone for any type of photography! ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t wait for another shoot with them! Maybe a one year anniversary party!?”

The Beavers & Jenness Families on Sullivan’s Island

For several years now, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Christi & Dave’s beautiful family when they vacation on Sullivan’s Island! These guys are some of my all-time favorites!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

This year, Christi added a fun twist to our beach portrait session by inviting her old college friend, Lori, to join us with HER merry band of family members! The more, the merrier, right?!? Living in Mt. Pleasant, Sullivan’s Island is a favorite beach of theirs as well.

It was a gorgeous evening with beautiful light and dramatic clouds. We all had a great time coming up with some awesome photos to commemorate our time together.

Houzz Review

Kind reviews always make my day!!! Here’s a nice one that just came in from Houzz (http://www.houzz.com/viewReview/230709/Chris—Cami-Photography-review). ย This beautiful home was a joy to photograph. And John was a pleasure to work with:

“After moving from NY to SC in February, I spent four months of concentrated work both interior and exterior to create my idea of a retirement oasis. Many friends and family from back home were asking for photos of my completed effort, and after trying with my iPhone, it just could not do it justice. So I contacted Chris and Cami and was delighted with both the results and reasonable cost. My iPhone and I could not replicate their professional perspective and the use of all kinds of equipment including wide angle lenses, light shadowing umbrellas, tripods and other contraptions to get the best shot. The result is jaw-dropping photos that elicited “Absolutely GORGEOUS” from the folks back home. Like having a good Dr., it is comforting to know that Chris and Cami will be there for my future photo needs.”
