Headshots for the LightGuage Company

I had the pleasure of working with the LightGauge Company this week, capturing their team’s new professional headshots in Charleston, SC. It’s always a rewarding experience to bring out the best in my clients.  And this shoot was no exception! LightGauge Company is an innovative leader in interior and exterior construction specialties. Their dedicated team brings unmatched quality and attention to detail in every project they work on. You can learn more about their services at golightgauge.com.

For this shoot, I used my trusted Nikon Z9 paired with the Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 lens to ensure sharp, high-quality images. To create a professional yet approachable look, I utilized two Godox AD200 flashes and two Godox Speedlights, which provided excellent control over lighting and helped highlight my client’s professionalism (while still catching a taste of their fun personalities). The combination of this high-end gear, and my years of experience, allowed me to help everyone relax while I worked quickly and efficiently.  I was able to deliver striking headshots that match the high caliber products LightGauge Company is known for.

It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with forward-thinking clients like LightGauge. Many thanks to my friend Bobby Carrier for his kind referral! And a special thank you to Jessica, their Director of Marketing, for working with me to come up with a neat concept for the look and feel of their new headshots!!!

Baker Motor Company Tower Sales Office for Glick Boehm Architects

This was a fun assignment! I’ve seen the new Tower Sales Office display near Nexton while driving up and down I-26. So it was really cool to be able to photograph it for Glick Boehm Architects!!!

Headshots for Seamon Whiteside

I snapped some stellar headshots today for my favorite client, Seamon Whiteside, in beautiful Mt. Pleasant, SC. Armed with my trusty Nikon Z9, I was ready to shoot, and everyone brought their A-game—complete with confident smiles. We dodged the Charleston humidity, though a squirrel briefly photobombed from the sidelines. The Nikon Z9’s fast autofocus and crisp detail made every shot pop like a rock star… even if these latest recruits to the company couldn’t quite hide their grin. Who knew headshots could be this fun? With my camera and the company’s charming courtyard, we proved that capturing confidence is an art—and a little playful humor makes the session so much more fun.

Seabrook Wastewater Treatment Plant for Harper General Contractors

After I sent the photos from the Walterboro Wastewater Treatment Plant to Harper General Contractors, they responded that they loved them. And they asked if I would photograph new images of the Seabrook Island Treatment Plant for them as well.

So I popped out there one morning to meet up with Caroline and Freddy. It was a beautiful blue-sky day.  I captured a variety of images featuring Seabrook Island wastewater treatment plant.  It was proof that Harper General Contractors really knows how to handle the “business”…turning sewage into something folks actually want to see!  The project is a flush-worthy feat of engineering…transforming what we’d rather ignore into a clean, flowing success. Who knew that engineering a wastewater plant could be so waste-fully impressive? Next time you hear “waste management,” think of Harper—they really know how to get things flowing smoothly, ensuring we all stay happily ignorant of what goes on behind the scenes. Flush with pride!

Walterboro Wastewater Treatment Plant for Harper General Contractors

This was a really cool and unique assignment!!!

I’ve never had the pleasure of photographing a water treatment plant. But I’ve always wondered how this vital process works. So it was really interesting to get a private behind-the-scenes tour, and to photograph the process for Harper General Contractors. Freddy and Caroline were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful at the shoot. And Many thanks to Moseley for trusting me with this assignment!

Stokes Kia of Goose Creek for Glick Boehm Architects

It was a beautiful fall day to be out photographing. And I was lucky enough to be covering the architectural design of Deena Hamdan of Glick Boehm Architects!

Arriving at Stokes Kia of Goose Creek, I began with some drone shots to establish the location. The blue sky and puffy white clouds really helped make for some beautiful aerial images! By the time I landed, Deena had arrived. She had already cleared with the owners and staff that we would be there to photograph GBA’s uplift of the building. Everyone was so helpful, and happy to help keep folks out of our shots while we worked. It was neat to have Deena there, the architect behind the project, as she pointed out unique and interesting facets of their design to me.

Many thanks to Deena and everyone at GBA for trusting me to preserve all their beautiful work on this amazing re-design!!!

Seamon Whiteside 40th Anniversary Party at Firefly Distillery

I had the pleasure of photographing the Seamon Whiteside 40th Anniversary Party at Firefly Distillery this weekend! It was an especially meaningful occastion, since Russ Whiteside is retiring this year. One of the founding partners of the firm, Russ has been a monumental pillary in the community. He was presented with the Order of the Palmetto by Governor McMaster’s office, which is the highest honor the governor of South Carolina can bestow on a citizen! And he also received an official flag that has flown over the White House by Senator Tim Scott’s office!

ECCO for Harbor Contracting with Gritty Gal Marketing

This week I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful new project for Habror Contracting. Alex was the lead on this build for East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO). He did an amazing job!

Founded as an emergency relief effort in 1989 after Hurricane Hugo’s devastation, ECCO has since grown into a permanent resource for the community with three main service areas: Assistance (essential services ECCO provides to local neighbors facing financial hardship), Guidance (the system of support provided to clients along their path to opportunity), and Resources (connecting clients to a network of community partners who can help on their journey towards achieving personal goals).

But the best part of photographing this assignment was that I got to reconnect with Jenny, who’s beautiful wedding I photographed a dozen years ago (YIKES…am I getting old?!?). Jenny and Nate were absolutely fantastic to work with back then. Fast forward to today, and Jenny runs a hugely successful firm called Gritty Gal Marketing. If you need any kind of marketing, contact Jenny at www.grittygalmarketing.com. She was such a pleasure to collaborate with. And she even showed up on the job site so we could catch up. Going above and beyond like that for her clients is part of what makes Jenny so amazing!!!

Headshots for Trident Construction

I always enjoy heading out to Trident Construction’s headquarters in North Charleston to photograph headshots for new team members. Here are a few fun shots and behind-the-scene images to share a little bit of what we captured!

Toni & Billy expand the Summerville Flowership

It was such a joy to reconnect with our old friends Toni and Billy this week!

We’ve known Toni for a very long time…since way back when she and Cami worked at the same company. And we’ve known Billy since we photographed their wedding. It was great to see them again and photograph some new marketing photos for their beautiful business at the Summerville Flower Shop! Toni and Billy recently expanded and moved to this gorgeous new location. We love it!!!

Toni is an incredibly gifted florest. We are so happy that you found your true calling my friend! If anyone needs a great florist…we highly recommend contacting Toni and her team @SummervilleFlowerShop!!!

The Cape on Kiawah Island for Trident Construction

Today was a beautiful fall day to be outside in the sunshine, photographing landscapes on Kiawah Island. But it wasn’t THAT kind of landscape photography!

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of photographing The Cape, a beautiful new condo complex on Kiawah Island, for Trident Construction. At the time, building was still under way. I was there primarily to photograph the interiors and amenities that had been completed in building 600. But there was still a ton of construction debris everywhere. And the landscaping hadn’t had a chance to fill in yet. So on this trip, the client asked me to focus on getting some exterior “beauty shots” now that construction is complete and the landscaping is looking lush. Fall flowers were in bloom, birds and butterflies were everywhere, and the sweetgrass was on full display!

Many thanks to Gracie and the team at Trident Construction for all their help on this project!!!

Rosen Hagood Charleston Office

Last week I had the pleasure of going back to Rosen Hagood law firm to photograph headshots for new attorneys that have joined the team. Their marketing group prefers I photograph everyone as a 3/4-lengh portrait, giving their graphic artists options for using the images in marketing material….while still being able to zoom in and crop headshots out of these photos for the website. This is one of the many reasons I love shooting with the Nikon Z9. The high-resolution 45MP sensor on Nikon’s flagship camera gives my clients PLENTY of pixels to play with so that they can kill two birds with one stone!
