Guy Family at West Ashley Park

I’ve enjoyed getting to know my friend Frank Guy of Francis West Studios over the years. It was an absolute honor to photograph his and Leah’s wedding, as well as Leah’s modeling photos last year. So when they asked me to photograph a fun family portrait session to kick off the New Year, I was all in! We met at West Ashley Park for an awesome mini-session, capturing a variety of beautiful images for them.Ā  Leah’s two older kids live in New York.Ā  So having updated photos of the whole family together will be extra special for her!Ā  šŸ™‚

Caloudas Family at Daniel Island Club

Cami and I love re-connecting with old friends.

We had the privilege of being Greg & Meghann’s neighbors for many years…as well as the honor of photographing their wedding! Even though we moved, and they moved, we still stay in touch. Last week we went over to their house for “portraits and dinner”.Ā  šŸ™‚

In between brief showers, we captured some fun portraits of their beautiful family on the front porch. Then during another break in the weather, we zipped over to the Daniel Island Club for some shots with the dramatic post-storm sunset! While we were there, we picked up dinner and brought it back to their house for a lovely evening of fun fellowship!

Greg & Meghann are such wonderful humans…and we are grateful for their friendship!!!

Orange Grove Elementary Volleyball

My friend, Erin, is an amazing teacher, a wonderful photographer, and a fantastic coach to her Orange Grove Elementary students! So when she asked if she could hire me to come out and photograph one of their games for her, I jumped at the chance!

I played volleyball in high-school, as well as in intramural competitions at college. Even though I was a setter, I was still too short to play on the team in college…but our intramural teams were still really competitive.Ā  Plus I was already playing on the college soccer and tennis teams! I feel that volleyball, and team sports in general, are truly instramental in developing confidence, structure, discipline, communication, and social skills for young people.

It was great to see the kids out there playing hard and having fun!!!

The Kunitzer Family at Hampton Park

Several years ago I had the great honor of photographing Mary & Ryan’s amazing wedding: https://chrisandcami.com/mary-ryan-at-st-andrews-church-at-the-citadel-beach-house/. Yesterday I caught up with them at Hampton Park, where I got to meet their adorable 5-year old daughter. We had so much fun, exploring the beautiful grounds and capturing some fun family portraits of this amazing family!

Sunny Brook Equestrian Team

While visiting family in Troy, Ohio, we had the pleasure of photographing a team photo for the Sunny Brooke Equestrian Center! It was a pretty uggly, gray, and overcast evening. But with a few speedlights and warming gels, we added a little extra punch to create a beautiful portrait for these adorable young ladies!!! Many thanks to Noelle for inviting us to capture it for them!

Cyrus Family at the Ocean Course

It’s hard to believe how time flies!!!

I feel like it was just yesterday that I was photographing the Cyrus family for the first time. Back then, Mason was only a year old! Fast forward to this year’s 5th annual family beach session with this amazing family…where Emma has joined the family, and the kids are growing like crazy!!! šŸ™‚

I had so much fun catching up with everyone at The Ocean Course. It’s become a family tradition. And I can’t wait to carry our annual get-together onto next year…

Lamson Family at The Sanctuary

The Lamson family is a lot like mine…all spread out. In fact, some of them live in another country on the other side of the planet! But they all decided to vacation together on Kiawah Island this summer. So I was honored that they asked me to come out and capture this special time of “togetherness” for them!Ā  šŸ™‚

Vida Family on Kiawah Island

What a lovely evening for a beautiful beach session with the Vida Family!!! I had so much fun playing with Andrew & Diana’s adorable kids, and capturing these family memories for them at The Sanctuary on Kiawah Island. This was their first vacation together to the low-country. And I hope it won’t be their last!

Schiff Family on Kiawah Island

It has been such a pleasure to photograph the Schiff Family on Kiawah Island last night! Several years ago, Debbie & Russel started a wonderful tradition of having portraits made of them with their grandchildren. This year, we met at The Sanctuary on Kiawah Island on a beautiful summer evening. It was so much fun catching up with everyone and playing with their beautiful grandkids again!!!

Muro Family on Isle of Palms

It has been such an honor to photograph the Muro Family’s annual reunion on IOP for over a decade! This year, afternoon storms threatened to ruin our photo shoot. But Susan said we should “go for it”…and I’m so glad she did. It was AMAZING to see how big the kids have grown, and to catch up with this beautiful bunch of friendly faces. They always make me feel like part of the family!!! šŸ™‚

Powell Family on Kiawah Island

It was such a pleasure catching up with the Powell Family at The Sanctuary on Kiawah Island last evening for their annual photo shoot!

It was an extra special evening because “Nana” Suzanne was celebrating her birthday this week. And adorable Eloise just joined the family a couple months ago! šŸ™‚

As is common during Charleston summers, a late afternoon shower popped up. But it sailed on out of here just in time for us to still have enough light for our beach session. It helped cool things off as well, which was nice. But the best part was, it left a beautiful rainbow behind for us to admire!!!

Whitmer Family at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park

It’s hard to believe how fast kids grow up!!!

Photographing the Whitmer Family over the years has been a real joy. I remember when the grandkids were just that…little kids! Fast forward to today, and the oldest, Grace, is going to be a senior in high-school. How did that happen already?!? šŸ™‚

After a rainy, ugly weekend, the sun popped out and gave us some gorgeous light to work with. Everyone was in high spirits. And we had so much fun exploring Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park together!

Many thanks to Milt for his hard work organizing everyone’s schedules to make these photo sessions happen. He and Karen always make me feel like part of the family. šŸ™‚
