Dannielle & Andrew at the Isle of Palms Exchange Club

I was so honored when my friend and amazing photographer, Kim, recommended me to Andrew’s parents (who are friends with her parents) when they were inquiring about a wedding photographer for their son and future daughter-in-law.

Shortly after we all connected, I felt like Dannielle, Andrew, and I were a perfect fit. Later, when Danielle wrote me this note, I KNEW we were going to have a great time working together: “My fiance, Andrew Wallace, and I have looked through your blog and website and love the photos you and your wife take. Quite impressive. We are so happy you are available on our wedding day!”

Although they were both born and raised in California, this amazing couple met each other while living and working in Washington D.C. I mean, what are the chances of THAT?!? They then relocated to Greensboro, where Dannielle is doing important research in the long term effects of tobacco use, and Andrew is specializing in infectious diseases. They spend quite a bit of time visiting Charleston, which is where Andrew’s parents live now. Luckily for me, this is how their wedding came to be held here at the picturesque Isle of Palms Exchange Club!  🙂

After getting to know them, and photographing their engagement photos, which you can find at: https://chrisandcami.com/danielle-andrew-are-engaged/, I could tell they were a match made in heaven!

Their wedding day was a beautiful affair, intimate and relaxed, surrounded by their closest friends and family! The ceremony was held on the dock, with dolphin peacefully swimming below us, seagulls floating effortlessly in the breeze above us, and Dannielle’s dad performing a heartfelt ceremony. The weather was absolutely perfect as well, culminating in a dramatic sunset, scattering vibrant colors across the sky behind the beautiful couple. A fun-filled reception followed on the deck of the Exchange Club.  A candle-light sit-down dinner was held inside, with a special menu picked by the couple to represent the meaningful places where they have lived.

Many thanks to Taylor at Experiencing Holy City for keeping everything on track and organized.  And a huge shout-out to all the other vendors for making this day so perfect!

CONGRATULATIONS Dannielle & Andrew!!! We wish you all the best as you begin your new journey together…

CTAR Market Forecast Conference at The Gaillard

It’s been a pleasure to work with the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors over the years. They are a wonderful organization, and their members are always so friendly and fun to work with!

This year their annual Commercial Real Estate Market Forecast Conference was held at The Gaillard Auditorium. With top notch speakers, and high-profile sponsors, it’s no wonder the room was packed to the brim! It was neat to hear positive messages about how the housing economy is doing, what the work force is looking like, and other insider tips from those who are “in the know”.

Many thanks to CTAR for inviting me back to photograph their event again this year!

First Baptist Church Learning Center

Trident Construction has been busy building a brand new Learning Center for the historic First Baptist Church in downtown Charleston.

Founded in 1682, the FBC is one of the oldest Baptist congregations in the American South. The church congregation was originally organized in Kittery, Maine (then part of Massachusetts) under the guidance of the First Baptist Church of Boston. In 1696 twenty-six congregants followed Pastor Screven and moved to Charleston after being pressured by the New England Congregationalist authorities. The relocated congregation became the First Baptist Church of Charleston.

Replacing the nearly 70-year old building that used to stand on this site was no easy task. The congregation had to temporarily relocate while demolition made the area unsafe. The new facility includes a welcome center, a nursery, a music room, a library, a preschool, eight classrooms, a conference room, several balconies, and a massive new cafeteria on the third floor that also doubles as an event space. Associate Pastor Walker Maginnis says the facility will house hundreds of students for the First Baptist School, as well as hundreds of congregates on the weekends during worship studies and church services.

Having photographed many brides getting ready for their wedding day in the dark basement “bridal suite” of the old facility, it truly was amazing to see the transformation this new building brings to campus!

Barkley Warehouse for Trident Construction

It was a pleasure photographing the massive new Barkley Warehouse in Ladson for Trident Construction.

Located within the Palmetto Commerce Park, which is one of Charleston’s highest performing industrial hubs, the new facility will offer a Class A industrial environment within close proximity to major economic drivers and a robust surrounding workforce.

It was truly awe-inspiring to be inside the MASSIVE structure before it gets filled with tons (literally) of goods, destined for distribution to all parts of the country!

Sir Elton John at Credit One Stadium

While working on an all-day corporate assignment, I got a last-minute call asking if I was in town, and available to cover an event that evening?

I knew I would be pretty tired by the time I wrapped up my current shoot. Plus I was shooting outdoors way up in Moncks Corner. So I’d be fighting traffic to get home, shower, change, and head over to Daniel Island if I was going to cover this assignment. But since the request came from my long-time friends and colleagues at the Charleston Tennis Center, I didn’t want to say no!

I am SO GLAD I SAID YES!!! It turns out the assignment was to cover the sold-out Elton John Concert at the beautiful new Credit One Stadium! I am so blessed that my camera has been my ticket into places I never could have afforded to go otherwise. 🙂

Berkeley County Promo Pics

I have really enjoyed working with Jenna at Berkeley County to capture a wide variety of promotional pictures for their marketing team. Today was another fun day in pursuing that goal!!!

Angie & Andrew’s Beach Wedding on Hilton Head Island

It was an absolute pleasure photographing Angie & Andrew’s beautiful beach wedding on Hilton Head Island last week!

Ever since they started dating, Angie & Andrew have been vacationing together at Hilton Head Island. The place holds such fond memories for them! So why not get married here?!?

The couple rented a huge beach house and invited their closest family and friends to join them. The day of the wedding was gorgeous, with a nice breeze and beautiful blue skies! Angie was absolutely stunning in her antique beaded dress. Andrew was dashing in his stylish khaki & white. They were such a sweet couple to work with.  And you could just feel the love surrounding them! Indeed their entire group of friends and family were so open and welcoming, that I felt like part of the family. I ended up staying overtime, just hanging out and chatting with everyone while the young people laughed and splashed around in the pool to cool off!

CONGRATULATIONS Angie & Andrew! We wish you all the best as you begin your new journey together…

Rice Family on Daniel Island

It’s been about 5 years since the Rice Family had an updated family portrait. I had so much fun photographing them back then…and every bit as much photographing them again last evening! 🙂

This year’s family reunion was held at the Daniel Island Club, which is a beautiful venue on Daniel Island. The Rice’s were staying at the cottages near the clubhouse. So it was super convenient for them to walk across to the croquet lawn for a shot in front of the big white gazebo. We also found some beautiful trees and a nice view down the fairway for several shots. The grand finale took place behind the property on their beautiful wooden pathway over the marsh. Then it was off to dinner at the fabulous Harry’s restaurant inside the clubhouse!

Many thanks to Matt for organizing everyone! I’m already looking forward to seeing them all again in another 5 years!!!  🙂

Dorchester County Promotional Photos

Did you know that Dorchester County is named for its first settlement area, which was established by Congregationalists in 1696? These settlers applied the name “Dorchester” to the area, in honor of their last residence in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Officially, Dorchester was not established as a separate county of South Carolina until 1897.

I’ve had the pleasure of working on some new promotional photos this year with the amazing Michelle Mills from the Dorchester County Government. Here are a few shots from the most recent shoot, featuring the EMS Headquarters, Sheriff’s Office, Dorchester County Detention Center, Davis-Bailey Park, and Texas Community Park.

Dorchester County Marketing Photos

This was a fun day!

While creating marketing photos for the Dorchester County Government, I got to photograph a huge variety of images. From staff photos at the Public Works Group, to first-responders at the fire station, to members of the EMS team, to scenic shots of Rosebrock and Ashley River Parks…it was a pretty intense day.  Portraits, group shots, aerial drone photos, nature, architecture, and scenery…I covered a wide gamut.

Two things I love about my job…I get to meet the most interesting people, and I never get bored!  🙂

I’On Neighborhood for Seamon Whiteside

This morning I had the pleasure of photographing some scenic images of the I’On Neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant for one of my engineering clients, Seamon Whiteside.

I was excited about this project, not only because I’m familiar with the area and know how picturesque it is, but also because I was working with the new Nikon Z9 and the brand new DJI Mavic 3 Mini! I’ve had the Z9 for several months. So I knew it would produce stellar results. But after heavy testing, this was my first “official” project with DJI’s most recently released drone. And it did not disappoint!!!

At 1/2 the size and nearly 1/3 the weight, the Mini 3 Pro yields the same high-quality images I’ve come to expect from my Mavic 2 Pro. It’s absolutely ASTOUNDING how far drones have come!

Richard Surprises Stephanie with Folly Beach Proposal

SHE SAID YES!!!

It was such an honor capturing Richard’s Surprise Proposal to Stephanie on Folly Beach last evening!

This amazing couple met at Southwest College, where Stephanie played hard to get at first. But before long, her and Richard became inseparable. They’ve been best friends ever since. After 5 years together, Richard FINALLY dropped to his knee at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean and asked Stephanie to be his wife. 🙂

While making plans to vacation on Folly Beach together, Stephanie thought it would be fun to schedule a couple’s session. Since Richard had already bought the ring, and was trying to think of the perfect time to pop the question, he thought this could work in his favor. Together, he and I worked out a secret phrase so that half-way through their couple’s session, he would know it was time to do his magic. Richard’s brother had joined us under the ruse of “helping hold your phones and sunglasses”. Unknown to Stephanie, he was also secretly hiding the ring! At our pre-determined time of 8:00 PM, I distracted Stephanie by asking to photograph a couple shots of her by herself…giving Richard time to get the ring from David. Richard then took Stephanie’s hand and led her down the shoreline for a little privacy. Facing her with waves gently lapping at their feet, he opened his heart and asked her to marry him. It was SO AWESOME!!!

CONGRATULATIONS Richard & Stephanie! We wish you all the best as you begin this beautiful new stage in your journey together…
