The Clark Family at Folly Beach

It’s AMAZING how time flies! It’s been about four years since I first photographed Joy & JC out on Kiawah Island with their son. At the time, Hud was just a bald-headed baby! It was so much fun to catch up with them and all that’s been happening in their lives since then. Hud has grown into a strong, confident, and happy young man!!!

Coy & Bill are Engaged!

I first met Bill when he asked me to shoot some promotional photos for a new event property he owned. Bulow Plantation is a gorgeous venue for weddings and events if you’re looking for a more rustic atmosphere!

Since then Bill has sold that property to the Charleston County Parks system. But he’s found a new passion in life…and her name is Coy! It was a pleasure getting to meet her and photograph their Engagement Portraits out on another property they own. The cameo appearances of their three beautiful labs made it even MORE fun! 🙂

I’m excited and looking forward to photographing their wedding later this summer. CONGRATULATIONS Coy & Bill!

Christie & David on The Carolina Girl Yacht

Last weekend, Christie & David tied the knot on the beautiful and romantic Carolina Girl Yacht. And their wedding was the CRAZIEST PARTY I have been to in a long time!!! 🙂

Christie & David are absolutely perfect for each other. They both love to laugh, are always encouraging, love their children like mad, and are NUTS over each other! When you mix that contagious joie de vivre with a hundred other folks who are just as much fun to be around…you just can’t help but have a great time!  🙂

CONGRATULATIONS Christie & David! May God bless you both as you sail away to a life full of fun and beautiful memories together!!!

The Hatch Family on Isle of Palms

With their family spread out from Atlanta to Dallas, this was the second “Hatch Family Gathering” on Isle of Palms. I always love being able to commemorate these important times when folks draw together and re-unites those wonderful bonds and connections known as “family”. 🙂 It was such beautiful evening and everyone was so much fun to work with. Many thanks to Jackie & Randy for inviting me to be a part of this special event!!!

Simmons Family on Isle of Palms

Celebrating their 40th Anniversary together, Kenny & Maxine invited me to create some beautiful family portraits for them to remember the occasion. Maxine had read many books about Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island by famous authors like Dorothea Benton Frank. So it was a dream come true to vacation here with the whole family. 🙂 CONGRATULATIONS Kenny & Maxine!!!

Danielle & Matt at the Grande Dunes Ocean Club

One week ago today, Matt & Danielle tied the knot at the Grande Dunes Ocean Club in Myrtle Beach. You couldn’t meet two nicer people on the planet! And I couldn’t have been more honored than to have been a part of their beautiful celebration, capturing these special memories for them!!!

Danielle & Matt, and most of their family, are from Ohio. Since Cami and I are “Buckeyes” from back in the day, we had an instant connection. Plus of course my goofy mid-west sense of humor actually fit in with theirs…HA! 😉

Elizabeth Hodges of Grande Occasions (one of my favorite wedding planners in the universe), helped pull together a truly elegant, tropical, and romantic theme for their day. And at the end of the celebration, it was so special to kick in their first morning together as husband and wife, by sending glowing Chinese lanterns off over the ocean and into the sky just after midnight.

CONGRATULATIONS Danielle & Matt! May God Bless you as you begin this journey through your new life together!!!

Brittainy & Nate’s Maternity Shoot

Brittainy & Nate are Expecting!!! These guys are going to be such great parents! I had a wonderful time getting to know them at their wedding a few years ago. Then at their family portrait session earlier this year they let me know the exciting news! So of course we just HAD to get some great shots of Brittainy’s “bump” before the big day got here. 🙂 CONGRATULATIONS guys! Get ready to welcome Mason to the world!!!

Callie & Tristan’s Maternity Shoot

I photographed Callie & Tristan’s wedding several years ago. But it feels like only a few weeks ago! Neither has changed a bit…just as fun-loving and good-looking as I remember them. 🙂 What HAS changed is they’ve started a family. Their son will be 2 in July. And baby number 2 is on the way in a few weeks! CONGRATULATIONS you guys!!!

Kiawah Architecture for Solaris

I spent a couple days last week photographing several AMAZING homes on Kiawah Island for my wonderful clients at Solaris, Inc. They truly are the artists of their trade! I always enjoy working with Julie and the team. Their interior and architecture work is so beautiful it makes my job very easy. 🙂

Published in the New York Times

What an honor to discover this morning that my re-creation photo of the “Original 9” members of the Women’s Tennis Association, which I photographed at the Family Circle Cup earlier this year, was published with this article in the New York Times!  🙂   See the original photo from 40 years ago, as well as my re-creation, and an article by the Associated Press about it at https://chrisandcami.com/blog/2012/04/10/re-creation-of-the-original-9-photo-from-40-years-ago/.

Erin & Kyle’s Summerall Chapel Wedding at The Citadel

I’m so excited to be able to share Erin & Kyle’s beautiful wedding from last weekend with everyone. What a wonderful day with the nicest, kindest, and most amazing group of folks you could ever hope to be around!

Erin is a College of Charleston lady. Kyle is a Citadel gentleman. I guess you could say it’s a CLASSIC SETUP?!? 🙂 They met while shag dancing, which they continue to enjoy together.

Erin & Kyle’s big day started out downtown at The Old South Barber Shop, where I met up with the gents. What a neat place! Then it was off to the Mark Clark building at The Citadel where the girls were getting ready. After family photos, Erin & Kyle had arranged for a private time of prayer before the ceremony. They held hands but didn’t want to see each other just yet…it was one of the coolest “moments” I’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing! The ceremony was held in the gorgeous Summerall Chapel. And of course, being a military wedding, it was followed with a Marine Lieutenant Arch of Swords. Finally everyone headed over to the Holiday Alumni Center for a fun-filled reception enjoyed by all!

CONGRATULATIONS Kyle & Erin! May God bless you as you begin your new journey together!!!

Erin & Kyle’s Rehearsal Dinner

One of my favorite events to photograph is the Wedding Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner!

All the family is in town. Everyone is happy and excited about seeing each other. And there’s so much electricity in the air with the anticipation of the following day’s Big Event. But the best part is, there’s no stress…folks are just relaxed, cracking jokes, and having a good time! 🙂

Such was the case with Erin & Kyle’s wonderful Rehearsal Dinner last weekend! I had so much fun getting to know all their friends and family. Soon, we’ll have photos up from their AMAZING wedding in Summerall Chapel at The Citadel!!!
