Andrew & Zach’s Senior Portraits

Having watched Andrew & Zach over the years as they grew into the fine young men they are today, it was truly my honor and my pleasure to photograph their Senior Portraits in old historic Downtown Charleston.

Since they’re such good friends, we did a combination shoot. And naturally, Cami, Libby, Randy, and Susan couldn’t resist tagging along to give them a hard time and poke a little fun at my two GQ Models. šŸ™‚

Thanks to everyone for a great time, and a great evening as we headed out toĀ SouthendĀ Brewery for dinner afterwards!

Kasey & Ross at Wild Dunes Resort

Kasey & Ross must be living right! With afternoon storms all last week, and predictions for bad weather on their wedding day, I was a little nervous. But the evening of Kasey & Ross’s wedding turned out to be absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

On top of that, Kasey wasĀ a STUNNING bride! Her gown was elegant yet casual, perfect for the beach setting they had picked for their special day. Their ceremony was held on the beach in front of the Boardwalk Inn at Wild Dunes.

After the wedding, we had just enough time to get some amazing and dramatic portraits of Kasey & Ross with the storm clouds in the distance beforeĀ they rolled in and the sun slipped below the horizon. šŸ™‚ An intimate and fun reception followed at her parent’s beach house for close family and friends that had traveled from St. Paul to share in their day.

CONGRATULATIONS Kasey & Ross! May God bless you as you begin your new journey together…

ArborGen Company Photo

Large group photos are always fun…especially when the background includes over 40 little mirrors reflecting all your lights, no matter WHERE you hide them! šŸ™‚ I guess it’s the challenge that I enjoy…figuring out the geometry of how to light a group this size, on such a reflective background, without letting those hot-spots show up in the mirrors.

The folks from ArborGen were a great group to work with and I really enjoyed meeting all these “green thumbs” from Ridgeville!Ā  ArborGen is a company specializing in applying the science of genetics and biotechnology to forestry.

US Women’s Soccer Takes Olympic Gold

The US Women’s Soccer Team avenged their loss to JapanĀ in the finals of the 2011Ā World Cup, and came home with Olympic Gold!

“I think the fact that we lost the World Cup and the way that we did gives us even more passion and desire to go out and perform tomorrow,” Abby Wambach told reporters before the game.Ā  “The truth is, this is going to be a great day, a great day for soccer, a great day for women’s sports, and something that hopefully we’ll be able to remember for the rest of our lives…”

I had the pleasure of meeting some of the players and photographing their game at Blackbaud Stadium in 2009.

Colletti Family on Folly Beach

What an AMAZING sunset we had a few days ago! I was so lucky to be out on Folly Beach with the wonderful Colletti Family in time for the dramatic light show. šŸ™‚

Welcome to the Wold, Mr. Mason!

Brittainy & Nate are two of my all-time favorite people! I’ve been documenting their story for a while. From their engagement, to the wedding, to family portraits, to maternity photos…and new the next chapter begins!!!

I had the distinct pleasure of photographing Mason’s Newborn Session as part of their “Welcome to the World” package. Isn’t he adorable?!?

And to top it all off, my good friend Tamara at www.bumpmeetbaby.com, who specializes in birth and newborn photos, came out to “play” with Mason & me. She’s just AMAZING…I call her “The Baby Whisperer”. šŸ™‚ We had a BLAST working together and I owe her a huge thank you for sharing her knowledge and her passion for babies with all of us.

CONGRATULATIONS Brittainy & Nate! You guys are going to be the BEST parents ever!!! šŸ™‚

Misty May & Kerri Walsh Three-Peat Olympic Gold

Congratulations to Misy May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings!Ā  They have proven themselves to be the greatest women’s beach volleyball team of all times, winning their third consecutive Olympic Gold in London!!!

That was also Misty May’s last professional game, as she enters retirement at age 35.Ā  “Beach volleyball is not going to be my career anymore,” May-Traenor toldĀ  reporters shortly after the match. “It’s time for me to be a wife. I want to beĀ  a mom. I want to share this time with my family.Ā  All of us athletes sacrifice more of the family than people maybe realize.Ā  It’s getting back to that. My mind says it’s time, my body says it’s time. It’sĀ  the right time. It’s time for me now to help the next generation.”Ā  She will be missed!

Here are a few shots I photographed of this dynamic duo at the AVP Championships.Ā  Enjoy…

Katie’s Senior Portraits

It’s truly AMAZING to see how much Katie has grown since last time I saw her! From that quiet little girl, she has become a beautiful, intelligent, gifted young lady. Her kind demeanor and easy laugh areĀ superĀ contagious. Her love and appreciationĀ forĀ her familyĀ is self evident.Ā  It was such an honor being able to capture this special time in Katie’s life!

CONGRATULATIONS Katie! You’re going to be an AWESOME Senior this year!Ā  The world is your canvas!!! šŸ™‚

The Warren Family Beach Portraits on Sullian’s Island

I’m not sure what Scott & Jessica used for bribary, but their three beautiful children were just a BLAST to work with! We had a great time exploring Sullivan’s Island and coming up with a variety of fun family portraits yesterday. šŸ™‚

Friends are Friends Forever

Terri, Sheba, Jenifer, and Hilary became fast friends in law school. Since then they’ve been in each other’s weddings, supported each other as they started their families, and vacationed together on Isle of Palms every year. But this was the first time they’d had beach portraits done!

It was such an honor to see the amazing bond these beautiful ladies had with each other, witness how their children had begun forming their own “next generation” of friendships, and celebrate this special time together with them!
