Ross Family on Kiawah Island

I was so honored and humbled in getting to know the Ross family yesterday.

In the face of tragic loss, they taught me a lot…they have triumphed through loving, supporting, and leaning on one another for strength and courage. What an AMAZING family! If only all of us could learn to be so gracious and kind and loving, even in the presence of adversity.

In spite of the threatening clouds, the Ross family and I decided to forge ahead with their family portrait session on Kiawah Island. We were REWARDED for our efforts! The clouds moved off, revealing a beautiful glow of warm light, and a gorgeous rainbow in the distance.

We couldn’t have asked for a more magical evening together!

Shooting Tethered and Saving Time

Today’s business world is all about efficiency and speed. That’s why our clients love the way we shoot business portraits!

We have a completely mobile studio, including all the fancy lights and a wide variety of backgrounds. Instead of a busy executive or hard-working professional taking time out of his or her day to drive to the studio, we go to them!

I arrive a few minutes early to set up the studio before their appointment time. Part of the setup includes connecting my camera directly to a laptop. This allows me to shoot “tethered”, which allows the client to see their photos immediately after the session! They can review the images, and even pick out their favorite shot right then and there. If they want to change outfits or adjust their hair style after they see the images, we can shoot more. They LOVE that instant feedback! And we love that they end up really happy with their images.

If any retouching is requested, that can be done on location as well. Then, while I’m packing up, the images are transferred to a Custom USB Drive for them to keep. Within a few minutes of the session, they already have their high-resolution head-shots ready to be printed on a brochure, put on their business card, made into their social media profile, or sent out for that next press release.

Everyone loves our system…and you will too! It’s fast, fun, and completely painless.  If you or your company is ready for a new head-shot or business portrait, just give us a call at 843-324-8900.

Business Portraits for Clawson & Staubes

I love the “look” that Clawson & Staubes has selected for their attorney’s profile photos. It’s a very professional, but “natural” style. I always enjoy photographing their business portraits and head-shots because everyone there is so friendly and helpful!

Charleston in Infrared

It’s been a while since I’ve had time to go on a “walk-about”. So yestrday I grabbed my Nikon Coolpix A Infrared camera and headed downtown…

Stein Family on Isle of Palms

Last week I had a blast photographing the Stein Family on Isle of Palms!

It turned out to be a beautiful evening. So we headed out to one of the nice secluded beaches near Wild Dunes. The last time I photographed their family portraits, Andrew was graduating high-school. Now Kristin is in high-school!

Time flies when you’re having fun!!! 🙂

Jay & Morgan’s Secret Proposal at White Point Garden

“When a man loves a woman
Can’t keep his mind on nothing else…”

What a great song by Percy Sledge…and so fitting of Jay and his love for Morgan! He’s been working with me for months to plan and prepare for the perfect time and place to propose to his girlfriend, Morgan. Only a good man, head-over-heals in love with a woman, puts that kind of time and thought into such an event! Morgan truly has found a keeper!!!

Jay & Morgan grew up in the same town in Viginia, have known each other a long time, and have been boyfriend/girlfriend for 7 years. Yup, you read that right…S-E-V-E-N years they’ve been “going steady”. Morgan told me after Jay’s amazing proposal, that she was starting to think SHE would have to propose to him! 🙂

Well, Morgan, you didn’t have to. Jay pulled off the ultimate surprise in giving you the perfect secret proposal this weekend! I can certainly see why he’s so madly in love with you, and wanted everything to be perfect. You are as beautiful, kind, and caring as he described. The way you two look at each other…well…true love is just magical to witness. It was an honor to be a part of this special day in your lives. I’m so happy for you both and wish you all the joy and happiness that you deserve!!!

Kase’s 1-Year Portraits

It’s hard to believe Kase is now 1-Year old. It seems like just yesterday I was photographing Lisa & Clay’s beautiful wedding. And now they have not one, but TWO highly mobile boys, full of energy and excitement! 🙂

I met up with Lisa & Clay at Isle of Palms last week to photograph Kase’s 1-year portraits, and to update their family portraits. It was so great to see them again…one of my favorite families EVER!!!

Fisher Family on Isle of Palms

Sometimes things just work out beautifully!

It was raining when I went to sleep, it was raining when woke up, and the weather forecast showed 40-100% chance of preciptation most of the day. It wasn’t looking good for the Fisher Family Photo Shoot.

BUT…there was a slim window of oportunity predicted for mid-morning. We decided to go for it, and were rewarded with a gorgeous sliver of beautiful light, which lasted just long enough for us to have a wonderful shoot together!

I had an absolute BLAST photographing the Fisher Family on Isle of Palms, where they’ve been vacationing all week. I owe a HUGE thank you to my friend and amazing photographer, Kim of Kim DeLoach Photography, for recommending us!!!

Nester Family on Seabrook Island

Once a year, the planets align just right, the stars shine bright, and the Nester Family descents on Seabrook Island for their annual family week of fun in the sun! 🙂

I always enjoy this time of year.  All summer long I get to photograph family beach portraits for wonderful and amazing, kind and giving, thoughtful and loving people like the Nesters!!!

College of Charleston in Infrared

Located in the heart of historic Charleston, South Carolina, the College of Charleston is a nationally recognized public liberal arts and sciences university.

Founded in 1770, the College is among the nation’s top universities for quality education, student life and affordability. Its beautiful and historic campus, combined with contemporary facilities and cutting-edge programs, attracts students from across the U.S. and around the world.

During the summer break, I took the chance to stroll through the desrted campus, photographing the charming historic sights with my infrared camera. Fine-art prints and canvas gallery wraps are available at http://chrisandcami.zenfolio.com/infraredartsy.

Murdy Family at McLeod Plantation

Grace is growing SO FAST it’s hard for me to keep up!!!

I had so much fun catching up with the Murdy family yesterday for another mini-session with their adorable daughter. We decided to meet at the beautiful, newly remodeled McLeod Plantation. The cathedral of oak trees shaded us from the heat of the sun, while a nice breeze kept us cool. We had a BLAST and came away with some adorable shots!

Last month I was lucky enough to be the first photographer to photograph a wedding party at this historic plantation since it’s renovations were completed. Isn’t it amazing that we have so many cool locations like this around Charleston?!?

Lisa & Aaron’s Seabrook Island Wedding

A long time ago, Lisa & Aaron were childhood sweethearts.

But life took them in different directions and they lost touch for 28 years! Then out of the blue, after many separate twists and turns, Aaron searched out Lisa through social media and they were reunited.  NOW, joined together in marriage on a beautiful summer evening, with sand under their feat at Seabrook Island, all is finally right with the world again!!!

I owe a HUGE thank you to the wonderful Nester Family for introducing me to this amazing couple.  I absolutely love photographing small, intimate weddings and elopements.  Lisa & Aaron’s was one of my favorites!

CONGRATULATIONS Lisa & Aaron! Now you have a beautiful blended family…and you have each other for eternity.  What could be better than that?!?  🙂
