Jackson Family at Boone Hall Plantation

This weekend I had an exciting shoot with Danielle, Jordan, and their two adorable girls at Boone Hall Plantation!

Danielle and I have known each other through our mutual friend, Diane, for quite some time. So it was a real honor to finally get a chance to do our first photo shoot together! As luck would have it, this was also the weekend of the civil war reenactment…which made it extra special.

We had a beautiful morning, in a beautiful venue, and came away with some beautiful images!!!

Julie’s Couture Designs

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing one of my favorite clients.

Julie has a passion for designing and sewing these stunning couture outfits! She’s been asked for an interview in a puplication about her designs. So we did a little mini-shoot of her wearing a couple of her favorite pieces to go along with the article.

Congratulations, Julie! It’s an honor well deserved!!!

Eliza & Andrew’s Wedding at The Citadel

Last weekend may have been cold and dreary outside…but it was HOT and SPICEY for Eliza & Andrew as they tied the knot at Summerall Chapel!!! 🙂

Their beautiful celebration started out at The Mills House for the ladies, and Gents Barber Spa for the gentleman. After all the preparations, Eliza & Andrew did their “First Glance” on the historic cobblestone-covered Chalmers St. Wedding party photos ensued at Washington Park, followed by family photos back at The Mills House.

From there, it was a fun trolley ride to The Citadel, where Eliza & Andrew said “I Do”. A graduate of The Citadel, and with all his groomsemen from the military college, this was a very fitting venue for the momentous occasion!

From there, it was off to the PARTAAAY at The Historic Rice Mill. With wonderful toasts, incredible food, beautiful decorations, good friends, and amazing tunes by Two Three Ways Band…a grand time was had by all!

CONGRATULATIONS Eliza & Andrew!!! We wish all the best for you as you begin your new journey together…

Chrissy & Matt’s Maternity Portraits

Chrissy is a dear friend, and one of our favorite Second-Shooters! She has helped me capture a LOT of beautiful mements over the years. Now it’s time for HER to have a beautiful moment!!!

Chrissy & Matt are due in about a month. So we met up downtown to do a few fun shots of them before going out to dinner. Congratulations Chrissy & Matt!!! 🙂

Kristen & William’s Wedding at Daniel Island Club

Last week I had the honor and pleasure of photographing Kristen & William’s GORGEOUS wedding at the picturesque Daniel Island Club! As one of my optometrists, I’ve known Kristen for a few years now. I was SO EXCITED when I found out her and William were getting married. And I was EVEN MORE EXCITED when she asked me to be their photographer! 🙂 Their wedding day was absolutely gorgeous. The dramatic views and flowering sweetgrass made for the perfect, romantic setting for their Big Day. Kristen was absolutely stunning in her gown, with her radians smile lighting up the atmosphere. William was as calm, collected, and handsome as James Bond. We all had a BLAST!!! CONGRATULATIONS Kristen & William! Your beautiful new “together” journey has begun…

Amtrak Adventure to Washington D.C.

A couple weeks ago, Cami & I decided to have an adventure, and ride the train up to Washington D.C. with her parents for a long weekend. Amtrak has come a long way…fun and courteous attendants, roomy seats, nice diner car, A/C outlets at every seat, and free Wi-Fi!!!

To add to the fun, we stayed with a friend of mine that I grew up with in the Congo (DRC). Like mine, his parents were missionaries too. He and his wife Machelle have a beautiful home, and were wonderful hosts. Plus, their beautiful and witty daugher, Maya, modeled in an impromptu shoot for me!

Weather was pretty dreary most of the weekend. But we had a BLAST hiking all over The National Mall and taking in the sights. It truly is an awe-inspiring place, and one we hope to get back to. Here are a few shots from our Amtrak Adventure…

Murdy Family on Folly Beach

I’ve been photographing Grace since she was knee high to a grasshopper. It’s been so much fun watching her blossom into the beautiful little girl she’s become…full curiousity and wonder…wrapped in love by her amazing parents!

Tamsberg “Charleston Charm” Portraits

I absolutely LOVE the Tamsbergs! Chris & Carrie are such kind and caring people…the sort of folks who accept you for who you are and leave you wishing you could spend more time with them.

Earlier this week I got to photograph another family session for them. It’s been such a blessing to watch their family grow. Their kids are so adorable…with giggles and smiles that put pure joy in your heart!

Here are a few shots from our downtown “Charleston Charm” family portrait session…

Maya’s Modeling Shoot

This weekend, Cami & I were able to take a break and go visit our good friends Eric & Machelle up in the Washington D.C. area. Eric & I grew up together in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo), where our parents worked. So it was great catching up with him!

We took in a ton of the sights, historic monuments, and museums in D.C…walking for miles each day…photographing non-stop! But my favoriite images came from photographing their amazing, edgy, and intelligent young daughter, Maya. She was a complete natural in front of the camera!

Here are a few from the fun little fashion shoot we went on. All images were shot on Nikon D810 with MB-D12, 24-120 f4VR, 2 SB-800 off-camera flashess, all controlled by RadioPopper’s Px system via the built in flash as commander.

Mackenzie & Tony’s Magnolia Plantation Wedding

It’s been such a joy for Cami & I to meet beautiful and vibrant Mackenzie at her gallery, be invited to become one of their featured artists for her and her partner, Kelly, meet Tony at one of their shows, get to know them over the past year, and now call them “friends”.

It was such an honor when they asked us to photograph their special day!!! The AMAZING wedding and reception was held at Magnolia Plantation last weekend. We started out with a First Glance at Hampton Park, which has special meaning to them. From there it was on to the gorgeous oak trees and dramatic backdrops of the historic plantation for fun times with their family and wedding party. The ceremony began in a picturesque courtyard overlooking the Ashley River. But when rain moved in, everyone gleefully gathered themselves and moved into the Carriage House. After the “I Do’s”, the reception went into full swing with tearful toasts, dynamic dancing, fantastic food, and an electric atmosphere like I’ve never seen before!

CONGRATULATIONS Mackenzie & Tony! It’s been such a privilege to be a part of your lives. We can’t wait to continue our relationship and watch you two blossom as you begin this next chapter in your wonderful journey together!!!
