The MUSC Department of Surgery Residency & Fellowship hosted their Graduation Dinner and Awards Ceremony for the Class of 2026 this weekend. Held at the historic Francis Marion Hotel, this amazing gala provides the formal send-off for chief residents and graduating fellows, and serves as the official welcoming event for alumni into the Curtis P. Artz MUSC Surgical Society.

Prior to the start of the program, I had a portrait studio set up in the Pinckney Room for the graduates, their families, and attending dignitaries to take advantage of. After that I transitioned into candid coverage of the cocktail hour. Everyone was then welcomed into the ballroom for a beautiful sit-down dinner and the main event. I captured all the speakers, award winners, and crowd reactions throughout the evening. Then finally the entire class got up for an impromptu group photo before everyone headed home!

It was a fantastic evening full of emotions…from tears of farewell to jubulent laughter over stories and anecdotes from their time in the program. Everyone had a great time. And it was an absolute honor for me to capture all these special moments throughout the evening!
