It was an absolute pleasure being part of the annual Educator’s Symposium for the Charleston County School District! This year’s event gave me an opportunity to photograph professional headshots for many of the district’s outstanding teachers and administrators. It’s a privilege to work with the educators who make such a positive impact on students throughout the Lowcountry. I truly appreciate the chance to help them present a polished, approachable image for school websites, publications, and professional communications.

Creating great headshots in a busy event environment requires an efficient workflow and dependable equipment. For this assignment, I photographed with my Nikon Z9 paired with the incredibly sharp Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 II, allowing me to capture flattering portraits with beautiful background separation. My lighting setup included four Godox V860II speedlights combined with Westcott light modifiers mounted on Manfrotto light stands, producing soft, professional lighting that remained consistent throughout the day. Every image was recorded on Lexar memory cards for their speed, reliability and dependability.

One of my favorite parts of these sessions is helping people relax in front of the camera. Even those who tell me they don’t enjoy having their picture taken usually leave with a smile after seeing how quick and comfortable the process can be.
