When couples travel to Charleston for a destination wedding, their schedules can get pretty hectic. Between traveling, wedding planning, rehearsal dinners, and all the excitement surrounding the big day, there often isn’t time to squeeze in a traditional engagement session before the wedding. That’s why I offer my destination wedding couples another option: a fun “Day-After Shoot”!
I had an absolute blast photographing Danielle & Greg’s beautiful wedding on Folly Beach this past weekend. They are the kindest, nicest, most AMAZING couple you could ever hope to meet!!! I’ll be sharing more about their gorgeous wedding day, along with some of my favorite images very soon. But before we get to the wedding photos, I wanted to share a few highlights from the fun times we had the following day.
Danielle and Greg brought their adorable kids along for the adventure, which made the session even more special. Rather than treating it like a formal portrait session, we simply explored some of my favorite spots around downtown Charleston and let the photographs happen naturally. We started at beautiful Waterfront Park before wandering through the old French Quarter, stopping along Rainbow Row, and discovering all kinds of gorgeous historic buildings, black iron gates, charming streets, and classic Charleston backdrops along the way.
The best part about a Day-After Shoot is that the wedding-day pressure is gone. Everyone can relax, have fun, and enjoy being together. Danielle and Greg were still riding the high from the excitement of their wedding day. And we were able to capture some wonderful images of them as newlyweds—with their kids right there beside them. For me, it was just another excuse to spend a a little more time with a beautiful couple, who happen to be two amazing human beings, in one of my favorite cities in the whole wide world!
CONGRATULATIONS, Danielle & Greg! I can’t wait to share more from your incredible wedding soon…
