There’s something pretty special about starting a photography assignment at sunrise in Charleston…especially when the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge is part of the backdrop!
I recently had the pleasure of photographing a marketing shoot for Bridge Commercial, and we couldn’t have picked a better location. We met outside the Portsouth at Ferry Wharf building, with spectacular views of the Charleston waterfront and the iconic Ravenel Bridge behind us. And WOW…that early-morning light was worth getting up for! The soft, warm sunrise light was perfect for creating polished, professional images while still capturing the personality and energy of the Bridge Commercial team.
We started with aerial photographs of the entire team using my DJI Mavic 3 Pro, followed by group photographs of various departments and, of course, individual professional headshots. These images will give Bridge Commercial a great collection of photographs for their website, marketing materials, social media, and LinkedIn profiles.
If you’re not familiar with Bridge Commercial, they’re a regionally focused, full-service commercial real estate firm headquartered right here in Charleston. Their team works with tenants, property owners, investors, and developers, providing expertise in everything from office, industrial, and retail properties to investment sales, site selection, and property management.
For the shoot, I used two Nikon Z9 bodies — one paired with my Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 II and the other with my Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 II. Having both cameras ready to go allowed me to move quickly between group photographs, environmental portraits, and tighter headshots without constantly changing lenses.
I absolutely love working with local businesses to create photography that helps tell their story. And when you can combine a great team, beautiful Charleston scenery, and that gorgeous morning light, it’s a win-win!!!
What a great way to start the day!
