What a wonderful evening photographing the Applause for Paws Masquerade Gala, the Charleston Animal Society’s annual fundraising event at The Gaillard in downtown Charleston!
This special evening brings together animal lovers, community leaders, and generous supporters for a common cause — helping animals in need throughout the Lowcountry. This year’s gala brought over 600 guests to the Gaillard Center, featuring a VIP reception, live auction, silent auction, dinner, and entertainment. With an evening filled with elegant attire, creative masquerade looks, exciting festivities, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate the incredible work being done on behalf of animals, there was no shortage of great moments to capture!
The Charleston Animal Society has a long history of protecting and caring for animals, providing shelter, medical treatment, adoption services, and community outreach programs. Events like the Applause for Paws Masquerade Gala play an important role in raising the funds needed to continue this lifesaving work. It’s always inspiring to see a community come together to support such a meaningful mission.
From the guests arriving in their gala best to the candid interactions, special moments, and energy filling The Gaillard, my goal was to capture the atmosphere of the evening while documenting the VIPs who make this event such a success. Photographing fundraising galas is always rewarding because the images tell the story of more than just a great party — they celebrate the generosity, dedication, and community spirit behind an important cause.
As a Charleston event photographer, I love working with organizations that make a positive difference in our community. A big thank-you to everyone who helped make this year’s Applause for Paws Masquerade Gala such a memorable evening!
