Molly’s Bridal Shoot at Charlestowne Landing

Molly is easily one of my favorite brides EVER!!! Just look at the energy and excitement in her eyes in these photos! 🙂

We met at Charlestowne Landing, which is an absolutely gorgeous venue, to photograph her Bridal Session several weeks before she and Justin tied the knot.  Located off of the Ashley River, where a group of English settlers first landed in 1670, this is the original location of Charleston, and the birthplace of the Carolina colony.

I don’t get to post Bridal Sessions very often because I have to keep them a secretly stashed under lock and key until after the wedding day. But I couldn’t help going back and sharing these images of this stunning young lady. Molly, you were such a joy to work with! And Justin, you sir, are a very lucky man!!!

Olman & Craig at White Point Garden

Getting to know Olman & Craig over the past few months has been a real pleasure. The love they share, the joy in their hearts, just overflows and spreads to everyone around them!

It was so much fun to finally spend some quality time with them on their Engagement Session the other day. The damp weather and foreboding skies didn’t dampen our spirits one bit. We met at White Point Garden, exploring the many alleys and beautiful backdrops of the old historic district of Charleston. Our perseverance  paid off with a glorious rainbow, and one of the most amazing sunsets I’ve seen in a long time!

CONGRATULATIONS Olman & Craig! I can’t wait to be there to capture all the fun and excitement of your beautiful wedding day!!!

US Grains Council Sugar Shack Gala – Montreal

The U.S. Grains Council develops export markets for U.S. barley, corn, grain sorghum and their co-products. These exports are vital to global economic development and to U.S. agriculture’s profitability.

To celebration another successful Annual Board of Delegates Meeting, a wonderful and festive gala was held at the rustic Cabane a Pierre, just outside Montreal, Canada. Logging, harvesting maple syrup, and other outdoor activities are a way of life in Canada. Each spring, it’s a common Canadian family tradition to visit one of the many “sugar shacks”, or la sucrerie de la montagne, for a day of festive fun, good food, and sweet treats!

Following this tradition, we had a wonderfully festive evening, full of music, laughter, entertainment, and wonderful food. This year’s corporate event was a HUGE success! The US Grains Council worked tirelessly for days, held dozens of meetings, listened to incredible keynote speakers, and got a lot of decisions made.  So the celebration at the sugar shack was the perfect way to top it all off!!!

US Grains Council Annual Board of Delegates Meeting – Montreal

The U.S. Grains Council develops export markets for U.S. barley, corn, grain sorghum and their co-products. These exports are vital to global economic development and to U.S. agriculture’s profitability.

Founded in 1960, the Council is a private, non-profit corporation with nine international offices and programs in more than 50 countries. Its unique membership includes producer organizations and agribusinesses with a common interest in developing export markets. Membership funds trigger matching market development funds from the U.S. government and support from cooperating groups in foreign countries to produce an annual development program valued at more than $26.5 million.

Recently, I had the honor of photographing the 55th Annual Board of Delegates Meeting in Montreal, Canada for the US Grains Council. It’s been a real privilege to be their official photographer over the past several years, covering everything from corporate events, company meetings, awards photos, head-shots, business portraits, staff and team photos, promotional images, greenscreen photobooths, and more. I thoroughly enjoy, and always look forward to each and every one of their assignments!

Riccardi Family on Kiawah Island

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful “golden light” evening for the Riccardi Family’s beach portrait session on Kiawah Island!

“Nonna”, as the grandkids call her, is originally from Italy, and still returns often to visit. But now the family calls the northeastern areas of the US “home”.

Vacationing down here from New Jersey and Connecticut, it was great to see the whole family bonding together and having a great get-away! We had a wonderful time, capturing so many fun memories together. I couldn’t have asked for a nicer, kinder, more amazing family to work with!

Haverstraw Family “Charleston Charm” Photo Shoot

Last time the Haverstraw Family vacationed in Charleston, we were vacationing in Cincinnati. Ironic, since that’s where they are from! When I photographed their family portraits the time before that, Joey was less than a year old! It was such a pleasure to finally catch up with them again this week and see how much the kids have grown!!!

We met downtown at White Point Garden on the morning of their “day trip” to Charleston. It was so fun walking through some of the old, historic streets and alleys of downtown, using the charm of our beautiful city as the backdrop. Majestic live oak trees, intricate black iron gates, and old brick facades made for really unique family portraits.

It was great catching up with this wonderful family and their adorable kids. I can’t wait to see how much they grow by the NEXT photo shoot we have together!!! 🙂

Morrissey Family on Kiawah Island

Family beach portraits are always so much fun! The kids are on break from school, the parents are on vacation, and everyone is relaxed and happy.

However, the frequent afternoon thunder storms in Charleston always make things “iffy”. About 10 minutes into my family session with the adorable Morrissey Family on Kiawah Island, we started to feel a few drops. We ran back to the cars to regroup. A look at the radar indicated that the northern part of the island was clear! So we drove up to Ocean Park, which is one of my favorite spots on the island.  After getting some great photos there, the rain had stopped at the beach.  So we were able to finish our session with some more beautiful beach portraits, with the dramatic light skimming across the clouds in the distance!

Our patience and flexibility had been rewarded.  And we all had a BLAST!!!

Lowcountry OBGYN at Shem Creek Park

It’s been about a year since I photographed the awesome team at Lowcountry OB/GYN. They’ve added a couple new members to the group, and changed a few things up. So it was time for some updated business portraits, head-shots, and company photos!

The amazing Stephen at Tenet Physician Resources helped me pick a location that was both picturesque, and convenient for the doctors to get to. The morning of the shoot ended up absolutely beautiful. We get some great shots, and had a few laughs along the way!

I always enjoy working with this fantastic group of folks! Check out www.lcobgyn.eboz.com.

Rice Family on Daniel Island

I always enjoy photo shoots at the Daniel Island Club. It’s such a beautiful venue with so many great backdrops!

A few days ago I met up with the Rice Family at the club, where their dad is a member. Some of the family had traveled from around the country to be here for their summer reunion. It was AWESOME to see everyone together and having a great time!

We had another one of those late afternoon thunderstorms that Charleston summers are known for. But we suspected that a clear window would open up afterwards, and decided to stick to our plans. Sure enough, it was raining when I arrived…but five minutes later it stopped and the skies cleared for a beautiful evening!

Best of all, the lingering cloud formations made for an unforgettably dramatic backdrop for our final shots together!!!

Evans Family on Kiawah Island

I always look forward to photographing the Evans Family each year! They vacation at their home on Kiawah Island each summer. And it’s always such a pleasure to hang out with them, feel their energy, and enjoy capturing everyone’s personality. This year was an extra special treat as I got to watch Steve zipping across the waves with his Kite Board!!! 🙂

Broghamer Family on Isle of Palms

Our lives have been so deeply touched by the Broghamer family over the years…and what a joy it has been!

I’ve done business portraits and marketing photos for Pat & Lou’s thriving real-estate business (highly recommended by the way). We photographed their daughter’s beautiful wedding almost 10 years ago. Pat sold our last house for us (and helped us buy our new one). And now I’ve photographed them with their two amazing grandkids!

In spite of the threatening weather, we were blessed with wonderful light and giggling children!  Amy & Steve (and their adorable boys) were in town visiting from Cincinnati.  So we all met on Isle of Palms for their family’s beach portrait session.  I knew it was going to be a fun shoot when the boys came up and gave me big “High Fives”!  🙂

Many thanks to this wonderful family for being such great clients over the years, and for becoming such great friends! We love you guys!!!

Ross Family on Kiawah Island

I was so honored and humbled in getting to know the Ross family yesterday.

In the face of tragic loss, they taught me a lot…they have triumphed through loving, supporting, and leaning on one another for strength and courage. What an AMAZING family! If only all of us could learn to be so gracious and kind and loving, even in the presence of adversity.

In spite of the threatening clouds, the Ross family and I decided to forge ahead with their family portrait session on Kiawah Island. We were REWARDED for our efforts! The clouds moved off, revealing a beautiful glow of warm light, and a gorgeous rainbow in the distance.

We couldn’t have asked for a more magical evening together!
