Kiawah Architecture for Solaris

May 29, 2012

I spent a couple days last week photographing several AMAZING homes on Kiawah Island for my wonderful clients at Solaris, Inc. They truly are the artists of their trade! I always enjoy working with Julie and the team. Their work is so beautiful it makes my job very easy. :-)

Published in the New York Times

May 28, 2012

What an honor to discover this morning that my re-creation photo of the “Original 9″ members of the Women’s Tennis Association, which I photographed at the Family Circle Cup earlier this year, was published with this article in the New York Times!  :-)    See the original photo from 40 years ago, as well as my re-creation, and an article by the Associated Press about it at http://chrisandcami.com/blog/2012/04/10/re-creation-of-the-original-9-photo-from-40-years-ago/.

Erin & Kyle’s Summerall Chapel Wedding at The Citadel

May 25, 2012

I’m so excited to be able to share Erin & Kyle’s beautiful wedding from last weekend with everyone. What a wonderful day with the nicest, kindest, and most amazing group of folks you could ever hope to be around!

Erin is a College of Charleston lady. Kyle is a Citadel gentleman. I guess you could say it’s a CLASSIC SETUP?!? :-) They met while shag dancing, which they continue to enjoy together.

Erin & Kyle’s big day started out downtown at The Old South Barber Shop, where I met up with the gents. What a neat place! Then it was off to the Mark Clark building at The Citadel where the girls were getting ready. After family photos, Erin & Kyle had arranged for a private time of prayer before the ceremony. They held hands but didn’t want to see each other just yet…it was one of the coolest “moments” I’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing! The ceremony was held in the gorgeous Summerall Chapel. And of course, being a military wedding, it was followed with a Marine Lieutenant Arch of Swords. Finally everyone headed over to the Holiday Alumni Center for a fun-filled reception enjoyed by all!

To see more of their photos, head over to www.chrisandcami.zenfolio.com.

CONGRATULATIONS Kyle & Erin! May God bless you as you begin your new journey together!!!

Erin & Kyle’s Rehearsal Dinner

May 24, 2012

One of my favorite events to photograph is the Wedding Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner!

All the family is in town. Everyone is happy and excited about seeing each other. And there’s so much electricity in the air with the anticipation of the following day’s Big Event. But the best part is, there’s no stress…folks are just relaxed, cracking jokes, and having a good time! :-)

Such was the case with Erin & Kyle’s wonderful Rehearsal Dinner last weekend! I had so much fun getting to know all their friends and family. Soon, we’ll have photos up from their AMAZING wedding in Summerall Chapel at The Citadel!!!

Erin & Rette on Sullivan’s Island

May 24, 2012

I’ve had the honor of photographing Erin and her family for probably a decade now. So imagine my excitement when she called to tell me she and Rette were ENGAGED! :-)

Erin & Rette had only been dating a couple months when they just knew they were soul-mates. Rette secretly arranged for a romantic proposal during a walk on the beach at Sullivan’s Island after dinner one night. Naturally that’s where they wanted to do their engagement shoot. We rescheduled twice due to those crazy storms we’ve been getting. But third time was a charm and we ended up blessed with a glorious evening and a dramatic sunset!

CONGRATULATIONS Erin & Rette!!!

Check out more of their work at the Spoletto Festival, in The Market downtown, or on their website at www.penegarstudios.com.

Baby Bailey

May 21, 2012

Sarah & Mike brought their beautiful little bundle of joy to the studio this morning to share with us. Baby Bailey was just adorable and so easy to work with! She was definitely the most laid back newborn I’ve had in a long tome. :-)

CONGRATULATIONS Sarah & Mike…she’s a keeper!!!

Belle Hall Eye Care

May 18, 2012

I HIGHLY recommend Belle Hall Eye Care!!!

I had the honor of photographing Dr. Lori’s wedding several years ago. As you can imagine, my sight is VERY important to me. I wouldn’t trust my eyes to just anyone! So I choose to go to Dr. Lori and the amzaing Maxine for all my eye care needs.

Recently Dr. Kristen joined this dynamic team. So it was time to for them to do some updated photos for their marketing. I had a great time as usual! You really owe it to yourself to check out Belle Hall Eye Care!!!

Feed Me!

May 17, 2012

While visiting Cami’s parents over Mother’s Day weekend, I slipped out one evening for a hike and came across this Great Egret protecting her nest. It was dusk, so she appeared to be done for the night. But the chicks all seemed to be saying “Feed Me” as they watched her every move!

Shot with Nikon D300, Nikkor 200-400VR, f4.0, 1/160sec, ISO 640, on a Manfrotto Carbon Fiber tripod with a Wimberly Sidekick head.

Brooke & Daniel at Pepper Plantation

May 10, 2012

I’ve had so much fun getting to know Brooke, who has been a model in some of my www.lightbending411.com workshops, and Daniel at their amazzzing Engagement Session on Folly Beach. So I knew their wedding was going to be a BLAST!

For something different, Brooke & Daniel decided to have their First Glance at Boone Hall Platation! We met there and got Daniel ready to see his bride for the first time under the famous Avenue of Oaks. It was so neat to see how he looked at her, and the expression on her face after he gave her that first huge hug!!! :-)

Then we headed up the road to The Pavilion at Pepper Plantation for their ceremony out on the lawn overlooking the lake. It was a gorgeous ceremony with beautiful music and a heart-felt service. The reception followed with dining and dancing inside The Pavilion, a photo booth by our good friend Pat at www.pattendew.com, fishing for the kids, and lots of lively laughter and conversation all around the grounds. To see the rest of their photos, head over to www.chrisandcami.zenfolio.com.

CONGRATULATIONS Brooke & Daniel!!! May you each remember you are truly a Godsend to one other…always and forever!
