It was a pleasure photographing the PGA Nationwide Tour Championships again this year. Now that things have settled down, here are a few fav’s from the final round.

Arkansas veteran Ken Duke won the title at this year’s Championship with a two-shot victory over South Carolinian Scott Brown.  This is the tournament’s last year at the scenic Ralston Creek Course on Daniel Island before moving to Dallas. Ken becomes one of 25 players to lock up a PGA Tour Card for 2012. Congratulations Ken!

Jacquelyn & Craig are a fun-loving, outdoors-exploring, always-on-the-go couple. So we hit it off right away! Plus of course they have a beautiful yellow lab named Bailee. So how could we resist when they asked us to photograph their special day?!?

Their ceremony and reception were held at the elegant, yet rustic, Bulow Plantation. I was one of the first photographers ever to shoot at this cool spot…and I always enjoy working with the dramatic backdrops it provides.  The pine grove island has such a unique atmosphere…there’s no place like it in the area!

Our mutual friend, Christy Loftin, did a beautiful job with their ceremony. And all of Jacquelyn & Craigs wedding party, family, and friends were a joy to work with and so much fun to be around. I photograph this inspiring scene at Waterfront Park while waiting for a beautiful young lady to arrive for her Bridal Session. I wonder what her new journey will be like. Will she catch the trade winds in her sails? Will I? Will you?

While walking Ralston Creek course on Daniel Island during the PGA Nationwide Tour Pro-Am Celebrity Tournament yesterday, I had a few quit moments between rounds of players. The sun was shining, the temp was perfect…it was just a gorgeous day to be outside. As I stood in the shade of a large oak tree waiting for the next group to come alone, I saw this Great Heron strolling through the water hazard behind me…not a care in the world.

I’m photographing the PGA Nationwide Tour Championships later this week. To kick things off, they had a Pro-Am Celebrity Tournament today. Bill Murray is such a NUT!!! And Darius Rutger from Hootie & The Blowfish is quite a character too. Others in the tournament included Cold Ford, Eric Bass, Edwin McCain, Branford Marsalis, Ahmad Rashad, and tons of other big names.

We take it for granted. But I often marvel at the beautiful wildlife we get to enjoy here in the Lowcountry! I’m always on the lookout, with camera nearby, when I’m driving home from photo shoots. Returning from a beach session the other morning, I happened on this stately creature with the blue sky reflected in the tidal pool behind him.

Brittany & Michael tied the knot last weekend in a gorgeous celebration at Old Wide Awake Plantation. I absolutely LOVED their theme of an “elegant southern picnic”. The plantation house was artistically adorned with rustic decor. Every detail was planned out, right down to the mason jars for drinks and candied apples for favors.
