Welcome to Nashville!

January 9, 2010

Cami & I, along with our good friend and fellow photographer, Kate McKinley, finally arrived at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville. We’re attending “Imaging USA”, the PPA’s big national photography convention we go to every year for ideas and inspiration.

After we got settled, I went down to get the lay of the land so I know where we’re going for our seminars in the morning. I get down there and staring me in the face is this HUGE, larger-than-life display with one of my images on it! :-) It’s a photo of Rugby USA’s Team Captain breaking through the masses that I shot last year. A few months ago I got a call saying they’d like to use a couple of my images for some “displays” at the conference this year…I had NO IDEA it was going to be something like this! I’m SUPER STOKED!!! I’ll get Cami or Kate to take one of me standing next to it tomorrow…hehehe!

Welcome to Nashville!

Back from Bolongo Bay

January 9, 2010

Every night, Cami and I fell asleep to the sound of Caribbean waves gently lapping on the shore outside our window. The wonderful folks at Bolongo Bay put us up in a fantastic room, literally a dozen steps from the beach! We had an AMAZING time shooting in St. Thomas. We worked hard…and played hard on our days off. J It was sad to leave the balmy 80-degree weather to come back to chilly Charleston. But we’re finally back in town…just in time to turn around and head to Nashville for the big ImagingUSA photography conference we go to every year…

Back to Bolongo Bay

January 1, 2010

Cami & I are heading back to Bolongo Bay Resort in St. Thomas, USVI. After photographing Julia & Erik’s FABULOUS Destination Wedding there, we were hired by the resort to fly back and photograph images for their new website and marketing material. How cold we say no?!? We’ll have access to email and cell phone. But we’ll be working hard…and PLAYING hard when not working. So please forgive us if it takes a little longer than usual to get back to you this week.

Last Shoot of the Year

January 1, 2010

I’ve been photographing Jean & Gerry’s extended family over the last six years. (Many thanks to their wonderful daughter, Andrea…she originally contacted me and began this longtime friendship.) It was only fitting that they were my last shoot of 2009! J I met up with them at their beach house on Folly Beach. Even though it was really cold that night, they all braved the uncomfortable temperatures and we all had a BLAST! The lighting was fantastic…everything from a really cool sunset to a really dramatic moonrise. I LOVE IT!!!

Jody & Gerald are Engaged!

January 1, 2010

I truly enjoyed hanging out with Jody & Gerald during their Engagement Shoot. I photographed Jody’s sister’s wedding a few years ago. So it’s been a real treat reuniting ties with her family and getting to know her better, and see what a beautiful young lady she’s become. I knew Gerald & I were going to hit it off as soon as I met him with his famous baseball cap. If he could wear that thing at the wedding, he probably would. J He’s so laid back, easy going, and fun to be around. I’m SO EXCITED about being their wedding photographer!!!
